Retention Pay. 27.1 Employees who have completed twenty-three (23) years or more of service as a uniformed member of the Department shall receive 2% Retention Pay. Effective June 30, 2008, employees who have completed twenty-six (26) years or more of service as a uniformed member of the Department shall receive an additional two percent (2%) Retention Pay, for a total of four percent (4%). Retention Pay shall be considered as part of an employee's regular rate of pay for the purpose of computing overtime pay due under this Agreement. Retention Pay shall be considered as part of an employee's salary for purposes of computing retirement benefits and retirement contributions. Further, it is the parties’ understanding that this benefit is part of the salary attached to all ranks for uniformed members who have completed the required years of service covered by this Agreement. Retention Pay that was being paid to a member at the time the member became disabled shall be included in the member’s disability benefits. Retention Pay may be stacked with Training and Education Achievement Pay.

Retention Pay. Section 1. Consistent with the HR Rules, regular and unclassified benefit-earning employees with at least five years of continuous employment* as of December 1 of the current year are eligible to receive retention pay in December. Section 2. Any employee who by reason of a work-related injury receives worker’s compensation benefits, shall receive credit for time spent on such medical leave for purposes of retention pay eligibility. Section 3. Any employee upon retiring from County service may be paid the retention payment as of the date of their retirement. However, such payment shall be prorated on the number of payroll periods worked during the calendar year in which such employee retired. Section 4. Retention pay may also be paid to survivors in the case of death while the individual is an employee of the County. Such payment shall be prorated on the number of payroll periods worked during the calendar year in which death occurred.‌

Retention Pay. Section 1. When an employee has completed five (5) years of continuous service in the County as of December 1 of the current year, he/she shall be eligible to receive two and one-half (2 1/2) percent of his/her annual salary for the current calendar year based on his/her current base rate of pay. For each additional year of continuous service after five, the employee shall qualify for an additional one-half (1/2) of one (1) percent up to and including his/her tenth year. For all continuous service after ten (10) years, the stability payment shall continue at the rate established for the tenth year of five (5) percent. At the discretion of the EMPLOYER, time on authorized leave of absence for education may be included in computing stability compensation.
Retention Pay. Subject to Section 2 and the other terms of this Agreement, upon the occurrence of the Closing Date of a Major Transaction, Executive shall be entitled to receive the amount equal to Executive’s Percentage of the Retention Award Amount; provided, however, that if any payment under Section 6 hereof was made to Executive during the term hereof, and the sale of such Division requiring such payment is also included in the definition of a Major Transaction, then the Retention Award Amount shall be reduced by the Distribution Award Amount prior to calculating the Retention Pay for Executive.

Eligibility is subject to the following conditions and limitations: 1. employees must have worked and continue to work (regular paycode ‘WK’) not less than seventeen-hundred (1,700) hours in an on-going, consecutive (rolling) twelve (12) month period; and 237. 2. employees that have been issued a suspension of thirty (30) or more days during the preceding twelve (12) months shall not be eligible.

Retention Pay. Employees of the Douglas County Schools ATU Bargaining Unit are eligible to receive an $800 retention pay, paid out on the June payroll, if they meet the following criteria: ● Employees must be employed for the full school year (July 29th - May 22nd) in order to be eligible to receive retention pay for that year.
