RETURN FROM PREGNANCY/PARENTAL LEAVE. (a) The purpose of approved leaves specified in Article 30.2 and Article 30.3 is to give Employees security of tenure in employment generally, but not necessarily in a particular position. While every effort will be made to reinstate Employees who have been granted leaves of six (6) months or less to their former position, there may be circumstances necessitating the hiring of a continuing replacement, and in this event some other equivalent position in the Department will be made available. To facilitate proper placement planning it is essential that the Employee notify the Employer one (1) month in advance of the date s/he intends to return to work on completion of the approved leave.

RETURN FROM PREGNANCY/PARENTAL LEAVE. An employee returning from pregnancy leave, parental leave and/or extended leave as provided for in Articles 36.2 and 36.3 of the collective agreement may apply to the Company in writing for part-time work. Such application shall be made thirty (30) days prior to the date on which the employee wishes to commence the part-time work. Where the Company, in its sole discretion, determines there is work available which can reasonably and effectively be performed on the part- time basis proposed, the employee may return to work and continue in the bargaining unit subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Pregnancy/Parental Leave Pregnancy/Parental Leave will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act as amended from time to time.

  • Pregnancy/Parental/Adoption Leave Pregnancy Leave will be in accordance with the current Employment Standards Act (Pregnancy and Parental Leave) at the time of application. (See Appendix A)

  • Parental Leave (a) An employee who becomes a parent, and who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks immediately preceding the date of the birth of child or the date the child first came into care or custody of the employee, shall be entitled to parental leave.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Pregnancy, Parental and Adoption Leave The Board provides pregnancy, parental and adoption leave for employees for such period before and after delivery or adoption of a child as will serve the interest of the students, the Board and the employee concerned, and in conformity with the requirements of the Employment Standards Act. Pregnancy is regarded as a normal health condition and not as sickness. No distinction is made between illness resulting from pregnancy and other types of illness for the purpose of sick leave coverage.

  • Return from Leave An employee on maternity or parental leave pursuant to Articles 20.1 and 20.2 shall provide the Employer with at least one (1) month’s written notice. On return from leave, an employee shall be placed in her former position or where the position no longer exists in a position of equal rank and basic pay.

  • Maternity/Adoption/Parental Leave a) In accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act an employee shall be granted maternity, adoption, and/or parental leave of absence without pay.

  • Return from Leave of Absence (a) Before a Nurse may return to work from a leave granted under Article 9.00, she or he must provide a minimum of four (4) weeks written notice of the specific date of his or her return to work, or such shorter time as mutually agreed.

  • Parental Leaves Parental leave of absence without pay shall be granted to biological or adoptive parents who request such a leave as provided below. ASF Members who intend to use parental leave according to the provisions of this section should notify the President/designee as soon as it is practical. The leave shall commence on the date requested by the ASF Member, and shall continue for a period up to nine (9) months. Parental leave may be extended for an additional six (6) months upon application to and approval by the President/designee.

  • Maternity Leave/Parental Leave Adoption Leave (Effective for maternity and/or parental leaves that commenced before May 1, 2019)
