SAFETY AND INSURANCE BENEFITS. 6.09 a) In cases where the absence is due to an injury or illness compensable under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act or covered by any other type of accident insurance, the premiums for which are paid by the Board, the period of absence charged against the credit shall be reduced to give effect only to the net salary paid by the Board.

SAFETY AND INSURANCE BENEFITS a) Each Teacher on the staff who is injured in the course of his/her duty and applies for WSIB benefits will continue to be paid their full regular wages by the employer using their accumulative sick days provided they have sick day credits available to them. A pro-rated share of sick days used for the absence will be returned to the worker based on WSIB approval of the claim and the amount of the WSIB award.
SAFETY AND INSURANCE BENEFITS. When a Teacher is eligible for and entitled to receive workplace safety and insurance benefits, the Teacher shall cause the benefit payments to be remitted to the Board and the Teacher shall continue to receive full pay for the duration of the benefit entitlement and so long as the Teacher continues to have sick leave credits. The difference between the Teacher's normal salary and the benefits shall be deducted from the Teachers' sick leave credits, on a pro rata basis.
SAFETY AND INSURANCE BENEFITS a) request, each Teacher on the staff who is injured in the course of his/her duty and receiving indemnity from the Workers’ Safety and Insurance Board may elect receive from the School Board a supplementary amount of salary equivalent to net earnings prior the injury. When the fund is entirely used up, the Teacher is no longer entitled to supplementary earnings. SAFETY AND INSURANCE BENEFITS. Where in an action arising out of an accident to an employee of the City coming within the Bargaining Unit, the City recovers a third person as a result of such accident a larger amount, exclusive of costs, than the amount paid to or on behalf of such employee including the costs of the services of the Solicitor for the City, the surplus amount shall be allocated to the employee or his dependants by the City in accordance with the requirements of Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Where an employee who is injured in circumstances in which he may be entitled to compensation under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, elects to claim against a third person, he shall, as a condition of Sick Pay, Short Term Wage Protection Benefits or Short Term Disability Benefits, agree to provide in writing an undertaking to reimburse the City out of the proceeds of any settlement or judgement, exclusive of costs, upon such claim, the amount of money equivalent to the value of such Sick Pay, Short Term Wage Protection Benefits, Short Term Disability Benefits and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Benefits as the case may be, and upon his having made such reimbursement, his accumulated Sick Pay, Short Term Wage Protection Plan, or Short Term Disability Plan as the case may be shall be restored accordingly.
