Saturday and Sunday Holidays. Holidays falling on Saturday will be observed on the preceding Friday and holidays falling on Sunday will be observed on the following Monday, which days shall be considered as the designated holiday.

If it is in session, Sunday shall be the holiday and each eligible employee shall receive one (1) day's pay for the Sunday holiday in addition to pay earned for the time the employee worked during the holiday week. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be treated for all purposes as the holiday and when a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be treated as the holiday. This applies only to employees who work a Monday through Friday schedule. For employees who work other than a Monday through Friday schedule, the calendar holiday will be observed as the holiday.
Saturday and Sunday Holidays. 20.2.1. When a scheduled holiday falls upon a Sunday, the following Monday shall be a holiday. When a scheduled holiday falls upon a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be a holiday. Notwithstanding the above, if a scheduled holiday falls on a Sunday and an employee is required to work that day, then Sunday shall be the scheduled holiday for that employee, rather than the following Monday; if a scheduled holiday falls on a Saturday and an employee is required to work that day, then Saturday shall be the scheduled holiday for that employee, rather than the preceding Friday.
20.2.2. Regardless of days worked or days off, all employees working on a regular basis shall be entitled to the same number of days off or fractions thereof for legal holidays which occur during the year as would normally be earned by an employee whose work week extends from Monday through Friday and whose regular days off are Saturday and Sunday. This paragraph is provided with the intent of assuring equitable treatment for all employees.
Saturday and Sunday Holidays. Except for employees working in a seven (7) day operation, if a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be granted Monday as a holiday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be granted Friday as a holiday. However, if a Holiday falls on a Friday City Hall is closed; eight (8) hours of leave shall be credited to vacation for each regular full time employee.

All employees assigned work on holidays shall receive cash compensation or compensatory time off at a rate of time and one half in addition to the regular pay received for the holiday. CVCHS shall comply with Education Code §37220.

If the holiday falls on Sunday, the following work day not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. Should this cause a holiday to fall on a school day, the District and Union shall select another day as the holiday.
