Schedule of Evaluations. New hire unit members assigned to restricted classified positions are to be evaluated as in the case of other probationary employees, except that completion of twelve (12) months of service shall not result in attainment of regular status except as provided in applicable sections of the Education Code.

Each permanent employee shall receive an annual performance review during their anniversary month. Employees who are absent during their anniversary month shall receive their annual performance evaluation upon return from leave. Schedule of Evaluations. A. During their probationary period, all newly hired part-time Early Intervention Specialists will be evaluated during their sixth (6th) and twelfth (12th) months of employment unless they have been removed from employment prior to the time they were to be evaluated.
B. During their probationary period under this Agreement, all full-time Early Intervention Specialists will be evaluated during their third (3rd) and sixth (6th) months of employment unless they have been removed from employment prior to the time they were to be evaluated.
C. All non-probationary Early Intervention Specialists shall be evaluated annually. The written evaluation will be conducted and must be given to the Early Intervention Specialists within a two (2) month time period (before or after) their anniversary date of hire.

Failure to adhere to this schedule will result in the employee becoming a Permanent Employee of the San Mateo County Community College District Permanent Employees—annually on the employee’s anniversary date in the position, however if two successive satisfactory evaluations are completed, the reviews are conducted on a biannual basis. (Refer to Article 3.7 for definition of anniversary date) The evaluation process for permanent employees may begin thirty (30) calendar days prior to the employee’s anniversary date and must be completed within sixty (60) days after the employee’s anniversary date. If the employee is on leave of absence of any kind (including sick leave and/or vacation) for a period of more than thirty (30) calendar days during the ninety (90) day window for evaluation, the immediate supervisor shall conduct the evaluation within sixty (60) calendar days of the employee’s return from said absence. If the immediate supervisor fails to complete the evaluation process within the timelines outlined above, no evaluation will be recorded for the year and the next evaluation will be conducted on the employee’s next anniversary date. Employees currently on the biannual cycle will remain on this cycle.

Supervisors and managers shall make every effort to give employees their performance evaluations in a timely manner. Any employee not receiving an annual performance evaluation will have their work performance deemed satisfactory for that year. Performance evaluations shall not be performed for any period in excess of one (1) year prior to the anniversary month. The District may make additional performance evaluations for employees at any time.
