Section 1.5. Long Term Temporary Employees. 32 A “long term temporary employee” is one that is a new or existing position that is filled for thirty-one 33 (31) or more workdays. All long term temporary positions are posted as provided in Section 10.8 34 unless an extension is agreed upon by the Association and District. 36 All long term temporary employees shall be included into the bargaining unit and are entitled to all 37 provisions of this contract, subject to Section(s) 10.2. Long term temporary employees are not eligible 38 for insurance pooling if position is filled after October 1st. 39 40 If a regular employee bids on and is granted a long term temporary position, he/she shall fill the 41 position for the duration of the leave. The employee will be allowed to return to his/her regular 42 position at the conclusion of the long term temporary vacancy. This employee shall retain all rights 43 under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position vacated by the regular employee 44 may be filled by a substitute hired from outside the bargaining unit as provided in Section 10.8. Short- 45 term layoff shall not be used to circumvent this provision. 47 Long term temporary employees employed for thirty-one (31) or more workdays will be given in- 48 District bidding rights for positions that are opened during the current and upcoming school year.

  • Temporary Employees 3.3.1 A temporary employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work assignment which is not ongoing (i.e. normally 12 months or less and not extending beyond 24 months). The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Temporary and Casual Employees The provisions of this Article do not apply to Casual Employees, and Temporary Employees who have been hired in a position of less than six (6) months.

  • Part-Time and Temporary Employees 16.1. A part-time employee is one who is hired to work regularly twenty-four (24) hours per week or less. Except as expressly provided in the circumstances described in Article 16 (3) hereunder, a temporary employee is one employed for a special project or a specified time, in either case, not to exceed three (3) months except by mutual agreement, or in the case of students, the academic vacation period, or for a specified leave of absence. The Employer shall notify the employee and the CAW of the nature and anticipated duration of all temporary employment.

  • Employees on Long Term Supply Assignments Employees completing long term supply assignments may only access sick leave and short term disability leave in the fiscal year in which the allocation was provided. Any remaining allocation may be used in subsequent long term supply assignments, provided these occur within the same fiscal year. Employees employed in a Long Term Supply Assignment which is less than the ordinary period of employment for the position shall have their sick leave and short term disability allocations pro-rated accordingly. Where the length of the long term supply assignment is not known in advance, a projected length must be determined at the start of the assignment in order for the appropriate allocation of sick leave/short term disability leave to occur. If a change is made to the length of the assignment, an adjustment will be made to the allocation and applied retroactively.

  • Temporary Employee Temporary employee" means an employee who is appointed with a definite ending date. A temporary employee's term of employment may not exceed a total of 12 months in any 24-month period in any one agency.

  • Temporary Employment (a) A temporary employee is an employee employed to work full-time or part-time for a specified maximum period of time which is not normally to exceed 12 months or to undertake a specific project. An employee may be employed as a temporary employee in the following circumstances:
