Section 9.7.3. 28 The employee will retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority rights while 29 on leave of absence. However, vacation credits, sick leave, and seniority shall not accrue while 30 the employee is on leave of absence; provided, however, that if such leave is approved for 31 extended illness or injury, including industrial accident or industrial illness, seniority shall 32 accrue.

Section 9.7.3. 34 Vacated positions shall be posted within seven (7) calendar days unless the District informs the 35 Association in writing of its intent to dissolve the position or to vacate it for the duration of the 36 current school year. The District will provide one week of advance notice of its intent to 37 modify the FTE hours of any position, so as to solicit input from the Association as to impact. 38 Offers of employment shall be made to bargaining unit members through the Human Resources 39 Department.
Section 9.7.3. 21 Employees who are laid off may retain retirement benefits in accordance with the rules of the 22 retirement system.
Section 9.7.3. 5 The FMLA leave may be taken: (a) because of the birth of a child and to care for a newborn child, 6 (b) because of the placement of a child with the employee for adoption or xxxxxx care, or (c) to care 7 for a child or a spouse or parent who has a serious health condition, or (d) because of the 8 employee's own serious health condition. If both parents of the child are employed by the District, 9 they together are entitled to a total of twelve (12) weeks of leave, and leave may be granted to only 10 one parent at a time.
Section 9.7.3. 36 An employee required to serve on a jury will be paid at their normal rate of pay.

If more than one employee is hired on the same day, seniority position will be 31 drawn by lot.
Section 9.7.3. 17 Employees shall be reimbursed a stipend equal to three (3) days of regular salary for three (3) 18 days of personal leave not used during the school year. The stipend shall be paid annually in 19 September. The Association President, upon request, shall be provided a report documenting 20 the reimbursement amount to the bargaining unit member.
