Senior Accountant. Accountant III
1. Ensure consistent application of GAAP accounting standards, as well as LSNY’s financial policies;
2. Assist in LSNY’s monthly and annual close;
3. Prepare monthly journal entries to record accounts receivable, cash receipts and contributions;
4. Perform bank reconciliations for selected accounts;
5. Reconcile quarterly 941 as prepared by our tax service to what has been recorded as salaries expense in the general ledger;
6. Prepare accrual journal entries as necessary i.e. health insurance, accrued taxes, salaries, etc.;
7. Perform monthly account analysis for selected balance sheet accounts, investigate and communicate discrepancies;
8. Review general ledger entries for proper revenue recognition of pledge receivables;
9. Review accounts payable invoices for proper authorization and expense coding;
10. Assist in annual audit schedules and financial statement preparation;
11. Assist in the preparation of monthly analytical budget vs. actual reports using accounting software, for management and constituent offices;
12. Work closely with Development to maintain cash receipts and revenue recognition;
13. Update budgets of LSNY–wide contracts; enter into accounting software approved budgets; submit vouchers, record journal entries, provide grant budget variance reports, respond to contract audits, and close-out contracts;
14. Assist the Director of Budget and Grants in maintaining the budget workbooks;
15. Provide monthly a forecast of cash receipts by funding sources for the next 12 months.
