Seniority Applicability. Seniority shall accrue in categories of position for employees. Seniority begins on the first day of work. Date and order of Board approval for hire shall be the tie breaker. No seniority shall accrue to a person employed as a substitute for an employee on leave of absence for one year or less, unless that person continues employment after the return of the employee on leave. Employees may accrue seniority in more than one category of position. In the event that more than one employee has the same starting date of work position on the seniority list shall be determined by drawing lots. Employees continuously employed with the Board shall maintain seniority in all positions and classifications held.
Seniority Applicability. Seniority shall accrue in categories of position for ESP’s. Only those ESP’s who have been an employee of the District for more than thirty (30) consecutive working days shall be deemed to have seniority. Substitute and temporary employees shall not accrue seniority. However, once applicable, seniority shall relate back to the first date of employment which led to thirty (30) consecutive days. No seniority shall accrue to a person employed as a substitute for an ESP on leave of absence for one year or less, unless that person continues employment after the return of the ESP on leave. ESP’s may accrue seniority in more than one category of position at the same time. Employees continuously employed with the Board and the former Minonk-Xxxx-Rutland, Toluca, and Xxxxxx Boards, who are now employees, and who had no break in service before becoming employees of this employer shall maintain seniority in all categories of position. To the extent categories of position are different for this employer, seniority for such prior employers shall be in the category most closely resembling that of the current employer.

  • Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.

  • Seniority Accrual All paid leaves shall be treated as continuous employment for the purposes of seniority accrual. Unpaid leaves shall be treated as continuous employment for the purposes of seniority accrual for the duration of the leave, except for movement up the salary increment scale.

  • Seniority List The Employer shall maintain a seniority list showing the date upon which each employee's service commenced. An up-to-date seniority list shall be sent to the Union and posted on all bulletin boards in January of each year.

  • Seniority Lists A copy of the seniority list will be posted by January 31st and July 31st of each calendar year on designated bulletin boards with a copy forwarded to the bargaining unit president. Included in the list shall be a breakdown of total hours paid for part-time employees. All lists will include date of hire. Any errors noted in the seniority list should be noted and the employer notified within thirty (30) days, after which the list shall be considered final.

  • Super Seniority In the event of a layoff, the Plant Chairperson, Committeepersons and Stewards shall have super seniority.

  • SENIORITY AND LAYOFF Section 1. Seniority means the length of continuous service in a bargaining unit position since the last date of hire.

  • SENIORITY 10.1 Seniority shall be defined as an employee's uninterrupted length of continuous service as a bargaining unit member. Each employee’s seniority date shall be computed from his/her first workday on the job as a bargaining unit member. Substitute employees shall not accumulate seniority and are not subject to any of the terms of this Agreement.
