Categories of Position. Employees shall be ranked by their seniority within the following categories of positions:

Categories of Position. The categories of positions for seniority, reduction in force and recall are as follows:
a) Custodian
b) Night Watchman
c) Special Attendant
d) Mechanic’s Helper
e) Maintenance (each of the following is a separate category) a. Electrician

Categories of Position. Employees shall be ranked by their seniority within the following categories of positions:
1. Teacher Assistant/Project Success Tutor
2. Standard Teacher Assistant/Intensive Teacher Assistant 3. LMC Assistant
Categories of Position. The following shall constitute categories of position for the purpose of this Agreement. However, this shall not preclude the Board of Education from assigning an employee to more than one category of position. Administrative Assistants Bus Driver Clerk Custodial/Maintenance Lunchroom/Recess Supervisor Maintenance Paraprofessional Skilled
Categories of Position. Employees shall begin to acquire seniority on the date they commence employment with the employer after their six (6) month probationary period. If more than one (1) employee has the same start date, seniority ranking shall first be determined by prior employment in a bargaining unit position. If none of the employees involved have prior bargaining unit employment, seniority ranking shall be alphabetical by the last name with first in alphabet, first in seniority; if the last names are the same it shall be determined by lot. Separate seniority lists shall be maintained for full-time and part-time secretaries (administrative assistants) separately and full-time and part-time paraprofessionals separately. The paraprofessional list will be further divided into classroom paraprofessionals, Title paraprofessionals, and special education paraprofessionals.

Categories of position shall be as follows: Bookkeeper 8 or more years Bookkeeper 0 to 7 years Secretary 25 or more years, hired before 7/1/16 Secretary 8 to 24 years Secretary 0 to 7 years Aides 8 or more years Aides 0-7 yrs Custodians 0-7 years Custodians 8 or more years Custodian/Gym Maintenance/Custodian Head Xxxx Cooks 25 or more years, hired before 7/1/16 Cooks 8-24 years Cooks 0-7 years Bus drivers 0-7 years Bus drivers 8 or more years Bus Monitor Permanent Sub Bus driver Bus Driver Extra-C. Trips Academic tutor certified including btw driving
Categories of Position. For the purpose of this article, categories of position correspond to the levels set on the salary schedule except in cases where a specific job requirement precludes a member being compensated at that level from performing the tasks assigned to the position in question.
11.3.1 Employee(s) affected by a reduction in force may replace an employee in another category of position if:
a) The employee, affected by the layoff, has more bargaining unit seniority than the employee in the category of position who would/could be displaced.
b) The employee, affected by the layoff, has held the position which would/could be displaced.
c) The District and the Association shall jointly place employees affected by the layoff at the appropriate level on the salary schedule.
11.3.2 In the event a transfer must be made to another category of position, the District will transfer volunteers first. In the event there are no volunteers to make the transfer, the District may require the employee with the least amount of seniority to transfer.
