Shift Swapping. Employees may voluntarily continue to swap shifts for their own benefit under existing guidelines, including pre-approval of the supervisor, accurate record keeping, and required to be “paid back” within a twelve (12) month period in compliance with FLSA requirements.

Shift Swapping. Employees may agree-to trade shifts with other Employees for one or more days at a time, for their own convenience, upon prior notification to and approval of the Sheriff or the Undersheriff. It is understood and agreed that no overtime shall result in any way for such voluntary changes, and for overtime and scheduling purposes; it is presumed that the shift trade did not occur.
Shift Swapping. Where two or more Employees agree among themselves to swap shifts (working days or times), the following criteria shall apply. ▪ No roster adjustments will take place or overtime be paid as a direct result of the shift swap. The swap must balance hours for each Employee within the settlement period of the swap or the subsequent settlement period. ▪ Employees are permitted to swap shifts (days or times) provided the operational requirements of the Company are met and the relevant supervisor or manager has granted permission. ▪ Approval for shift swaps will not be unreasonably withheld and must follow Centre processes in place from time to time, including the recording of swaps as locally agreed. ▪ Shift swaps will be available to people within the same classification level.
Shift Swapping. Internal arrangements within teams for shift swapping may be allowed depending on the circumstance and agreement within each team. The same arrangement can be agreed upon for Christmas, New Year and Good Friday, providing that minimum skeleton crew coverage is maintained. The make up day to be worked is by mutual agreement and decided upon before swapping of rostered day.
Shift Swapping. Transfer Station Employees may swap shifts with their co-workers provided it is mutually agreed to between the applicable transfer station employees and the parties concerned must receive approval from the supervisor. Under no circumstances can an employee be forced to Xxxxx Xxxx. Employees may at any time agree to start or end shift swapping with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice. Further Shift swaps must start or end so that no employee suffers a loss of pay. When employees agree to do a “Shift Swap”, they will be working a compressed work week. Employees working a compressed work week will work operator 1 and operator 2 schedules for a given week which will result in the worker working in excess of 40 hours in a week. Scheduled hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week specific to “Shift Swap” shifts, will not be paid at overtime rates. Any hours worked outside of the scheduled hours will be subject to overtime rates as provided in the collective agreement. Finally, “Shift Swapping” will only be permitted if the scheduled hours do not exceed 80 hours in a given work week of a maximum of seven consecutive working days. In the event of the end of a shift swap, the end shall be scheduled to ensure that no worker works more than seven consecutive days.
Shift Swapping. Correction Officers will be allowed to swap shifts in accordance with the directive issued by the Warden on October 13, 1995, which effective January 1, 2006 shall be deemed modified to provide no more than 4 swaps per officer per quarter. .
