SHIFT TRADE. By the mutual agreement between the involved employees and the Post Commander or equivalent supervisor, members of the bargaining unit assigned to the same work facility and in the same job classification may trade scheduled work days. Approval for such shift trade shall not be unreasonably denied by the Post Commander or equivalent supervisor. The accumulative duration of shift trades by any one employee shall be limited to thirty (30) days in a calendar year, except for those situations provided for in Section 37.03 of this Agreement.
SHIFT TRADE. Bargaining unit members may trade shifts with employees in their classification subject to the following provisions:
1. All requests for shift trades must be approved by the immediate supervisor. Requests for shift trade shall not be unreasonably denied.
2. Shift trades shall not create an overtime liability for the Employer.
3. The date(s) requested for shift trade shall be mutually agreed upon by the employees involved. All requests for shift trade must be made in writing two (2) weeks prior to the date(s) requested; however, this requirement may be waived by the Employer.
4. Once an employee has traded shifts he/she shall not request a shift trade for the duration of his/her temporary shift adjustment.
SHIFT TRADE. The voluntary, documented exchange of scheduled work hours between no more than three (3) bargaining unit employees for a minimum of one (1) hour. This may include trades for a partial shift or a full shift.
SHIFT TRADE. SHIFT TRADE. Employees may be allowed to trade a full shift or any part of a shift with another employee provided that the trade is acceptable to the Corporation and prior approval has been secured. It is required that a written request from both employees involved be submitted to the immediate supervisor prior to the time of trade. It is understood that such exchange will not penalize the Corporation by requiring the payment of any overtime or premium pay.
SHIFT TRADE. Shift Battalion Chiefs may mutually exchange duty days (shift trade) in grade only and with the approval of the Fire Chief/CEO or designee.

Qualified employees in the same work area and the same classification may mutually agree to trade a shift within the established schedule as long as the staffing ratio is preserved and no overtime is created. Such trade must be mutually agreed upon in writing and notice given to the supervisor prior to the effective date of the trade.
