Sick Leave Accrual Options. ‌ Once an employee has accrued thirty-six (36) days (288 hours) of sick leave, the employee may elect to cash in unused sick days accrued in excess of thirty-six (36) days for 50% of their value on subsequent anniversaries each year. Employees are eligible to cash in a maximum of twelve (12) days (96 hours) per year. A year is calculated from the employee’s date of hire and on all subsequent anniversary dates. The number of hours for which payment is received will be subtracted from the employee’s accumulated sick leave. Only unused sick days earned during the previous year are eligible for sick leave buy back on each anniversary date. If an employee has met the minimum requirements and elects not to buy back sick time in a given year, the employee cannot buy back the sick time he/she earned in that year in subsequent years. The number of hours for which payment is received will be subtracted from the employee’s accumulated sick leave. Those employees who have chosen the sick leave buy back option and will be receiving payment from the Village for this option, will receive the payment on the first pay period after their anniversary date. All applicable deductions will be made from the employee’s sick leave buy back check. Employees earn and accumulate sick time at a rate of eight (8) hours per month.

Sick Leave Accrual Options. ‌ The Village offers two (2) sick leave accrual options as a benefit to Village employees. New employees will be asked to make a selection at time of hire. Once chosen, the employee’s decision is irrevocable and shall be in effect until the employee terminates employment with the Village. Regardless of the option chosen by the employee, all employees have the opportunity to accrue/bank a maximum of 240 days (1,920 hours) to be applied toward retirement in accordance with IMRF policies. The two (2) sick leave accrual options offered by the Village are as follows.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month. Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.

  • Leave Accruals Accumulated annual leave, personal leave, and sick leave balances will automatically be frozen for the duration of the leave of absence. The employee will not accrue leave credits during the leave of absence.

  • Sick Leave Accumulation a. All unused days of sick leave at full pay for all employees, shall accumulate to a maximum of two hundred ten (210) days. Such sick leave benefits so accrued will be usable after the annual full days allowed, and prior to any half pay benefits.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.

  • Leave Accrual After the first 30 days of active military service in any one calendar year, employees shall not accrue City-paid vacation, holiday, or sick leave benefits or other forms of paid leave; provided, however, that any public employee on military leave for intermittent training periods shall continue to accrue the same vacation, sick, and holiday leave up to a maximum period of 180 cumulative days per calendar year as if the employee had not been on military leave.

  • Sick Leave Benefit There are two types of sick leave benefits. Annual sick leave is the sick leave days credited each year to each employee in accordance with the provisions of the local collective bargaining agreements. Banked sick leave is previously accumulated unused sick leave to which unused annual sick leave may be added at the end of each anniversary year.

  • Sick Leave Incentive Effective September 1, 1986, employees covered by this Agreement, hired on or after October 1, 1977, who are not entitled to disability leave under State Statute R.C.W. 41.26, shall be eligible for the following sick leave incentive program:

  • Annual Leave Accrual If an employee leaves State Classified employment and is later rehired, he/she shall accrue annual leave at the same rate as a new hire. However, once a rehired employee has been in pay status for five (5) years, all previous service time shall be credited for annual leave accrual. The only exception shall be for employees rehired who repay severance pay received.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
