SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. Any employee shall be entitled to special leave at her regular rate of pay for the following:
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. Full-time members of the bargaining unit other than those holding temporary appointments may receive special leave of absence. When a special leave of absence is taken at the request of the College, that individual's full benefit shall continue.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. Any employee shall be entitled to special leave at their regular rate of pay for the following:
(a) Citizenship
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. Employees may be granted leave with pay provided that the leave does not conflict with operational requirements.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. (a) An employee required to attend court as a subpoenaed crown witness or required to report for jury duty will suffer no loss of pay provided he/she turns over any and all monies paid and reports for work when not required to be in court.
(b) Employees shall be reimbursed for lost earnings if required to serve at the request of the Company as a witness in matters arising out of his/her employment and shall be paid for time spent and legitimate travel expenses from their home.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. ForestrySA may grant up to the equivalent of 15 days special leave with pay each service year to an employee to enable them to meet individual needs and responsibilities in accordance with the ForestrySA Human Resources Manual. This leave may include, but is not limited to:
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. Special Leave with Pay shall be awarded to an employee who is required:
(a) to serve on a jury; or
(b) by subpoena or summons, to attend as a witness in any proceeding held:
(i) in or under authority of a court of justice;
(ii) before a court, judge or justice;
(iii) before the House of Assembly or any Committee thereof that is authorized by law to compel the attendance of witnesses before it; or
(iv) before an Arbitrator or a person or body of persons authorized by law to make an inquiry and to compel the attendance of witnesses before it; provided that any witness fees receivable shall be paid to the Employer. This period of leave shall be counted for accumulated benefits purposes. The employee will present proof of service that he/she attended as juror or witness.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. The employer (as defined) shall grant special leave of absence with pay to an employee in the following circumstances:
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY a) Regular employees shall be allowed leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits for the following reasons: Reason: Leave of Absence: Employee’s marriage 3 working days Marriage of employee’s parent, child, brother or sister The day of the wedding Adoption of employee's child 3 working days Moving employee's household Maximum of 1 working day (day of move) per calendar year Serious household emergency 1 working day Formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen 1 working day Employee, employee’s spouse and/or dependant’s secondary or university, college or technical institute graduation 1 working day – day of graduation ceremony Education examination in line with work Time required for examination up to a maximum of 1 working day Paternity 3 Working days
b) Paid Emergency Leave - It is recognized by both parties that on occasion matters of public emergency arise such as search and rescue; fire fighting, etc. An employee who has been called on to perform such services during working hours may be paid his/her regular salary PROVIDING that documentation, confirming the emergency service was performed by the employee, is presented to the Board upon return to work.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. (a) Special leave with pay of up to five days per year will be granted to the employee in the event of illness in the immediate family or for another extenuating circumstance.
(b) An employee will be granted one day special leave with pay to attend a formal hearing to become a Canadian citizen.
(c) Special leave with pay will be granted to an employee for job related court appearances. Such court appearances will be authorized by the Board Chairperson.
(d) Special leave with pay for up to five days will be granted to an employee serving as a juror. Further leave with pay may be granted at the Employer's discretion. The employee will remit to the Employer all monies paid to them by the court excluding meal and travelling allowances not reimbursed by the Employer.
