State Mandated Training. The District intends to provide State mandated health and safety training as part of the “Welcome Back” and Professional Development activities provided at the beginning of the school year. If this does not occur, one faculty meeting each year shall be used to permit staff to complete State mandated training. Should additional State mandated training become required, additional time at faculty meetings will be provided. If the District provides such training and a teacher is absent and misses the same, the teacher shall be required to make up the training on his/her own without additional compensation unless the teacher is assigned to attend District Professional Development in which case District time will be provided to the teacher.

State Mandated Training. Bargaining unit members shall comply all state mandated training and furnish verification of completion to administration.
State Mandated Training who have successfully completed the ETS (outlined in the above document) will be 10 required to complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FSC). The District must provide up to 28 11 hours of paid training and associated costs on the state standards of practice for all paraeducators, 12 when funded by the state. The District will also provide access to computers and other technology 13 needed to be successful in obtaining the FSC and certificates. 15 Once the 28 hours have been earned, paraeducators are then eligible to earn a General Certificate by 16 completing an additional 70 hours of courses on the standards of practice. The General certificate date 17 must be completed within three (3) years of finishing the FSC and will not expire. 19 Paraeducators can also complete the Subject Matter Certificates (SMC). The SMC consists of the 20 English Language Learner (ELL) Subject Matter and the Special Education Subject Matter 21 Certificates. Both certificates require 20 hours of professional development in their specific subject 22 area and the certificates will expire after five (5) years. Course hours for the SMC will count towards 23 the General Certificate. 25 Paraeducators who choose to obtain the Advanced Paraeducators Certificate will complete 75 hours of 26 professional development related to the following duties, which may include; assisting in highly 28 applications, mentoring and coaching other paraeducators, or acting as a short-term emergency 29 substitute teacher. 31 Professional development hours, which include clock hours and the state approved apprenticeship 32 program, will count towards continuing education credit hours. 34 All training hours will be paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay. 35 37 38 ARTICLE XX 39 40 MEMBERSHIP VISIT ON THE JOB 41 42 Section 20.1. 43 Visitation rights shall be granted to the designated representative of Public School Employees of 44 Washington/SEIU Local 1948, to visit with the employees in the bargaining unit for the purposes of 45 grievance procedures and/or general information. The visiting delegate shall notify the District of his 46 arrival, and the purpose of the visitation.

  • Safety Training Pursuant to Missouri Revised Statute Section 292.675, Contractors and subcontractors who sign a contract to work on public works projects must provide a 10-hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. Contractors and subcontractors in violation of this provision will forfeit to the public body $2,500 plus $100 a day for each employee who is employed without training. Public bodies and contractors may withhold/assess these penalties from the payment due to those contractors and subcontractors if found to be in non-compliance.

  • Medical Examination Where the Employer requires an employee to submit to a medical examination or medical interview, it shall be at the Employer's expense and on the Employer's time.

  • Technical Training The CAISO and the Participating TOs shall respond to reasonable requests for support and provide relevant technical training to each other’s employees to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the CAISO Controlled Grid and to comply with any NERC or WECC operator certification or training requirements. Examples of such technical training include, but are not limited to: (1) the theory or operation of new or modified equipment (e.g., control systems, Remedial Action Schemes, protective relays); (2) computer and applicator programs; and (3) CAISO (or Participating TO) requirements. The Parties shall enter into agreements regarding the timing, term, locations, and cost allocation for the training.

  • Employee Training The Provider shall provide periodic security training to those of its employees who operate or have access to the system. Further, Provider shall provide LEA with contact information of an employee who LEA may contact if there are any security concerns or questions.

  • Medical Examinations An employee may be required by the Employer, at the request of and at the expense of the Employer, to take a medical examination by a physician of the employee's choice. Employees may be required to take skin tests, x-ray examination, vaccination, inoculation and other immunization (with the exception of a rubella vaccination when the employee is of the opinion that a pregnancy is possible), unless the employee's physician has advised in writing that such a procedure may have an adverse affect on the employee's health.

  • General Training 417. The City will use its best efforts to provide Local 21 represented employees with up to forty (40) hours of paid time off for job-related training and/or professional development, which shall include one day of professional development of an employee’s choice, not to be unreasonably denied. Such time may include departmental-sponsored training and/or professional development; DHR sponsored training and/or professional development; and/or outside training and/or professional development approved by appointing officer or designee. The foregoing includes but is not limited to mandatory continuing education and/or training requirements.

  • Medical Care The Parents must comply with the School Welfare Officer's recommendations which may include a reasonable decision to release the Pupil home or to his / her education guardian when s/he is unwell.

  • CULTURAL DIVERSITY The Cultural Diversity Requirement generally does not add units to a student's program. Rather, it is intended to be fulfilled by choosing courses from the approved list that also satisfy requirements in other areas of the student’s program; the exception is that Cultural Diversity courses may not satisfy Culture and Language Requirements for B.S. students. For example, COMM 6 – Intercultural Communication, can fulfill (3) units of the Behavioral Science requirement and (3) units of the Cultural Diversity requirement. This double counting of a class may only be done with the Cultural Diversity requirement. Courses in Cultural Diversity may be taken at the lower- division or upper-division level.

  • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.

  • EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING 1. The State agrees to provide advice and counseling to employees with respect to career advancement opportunities and agency developments which have an impact on their careers. 2. Regular review of its job-related and career development and training programs will be made by the State in order to provide suitable programs for employees covered by this Agreement. When undertaking any such review, the State shall notify employees of such review and take into account suggestions and proposals made by employees. 3. Employees shall be given a reasonable notice of applicable, development and training programs available. Such notice shall include an explanation of the procedure for applying for the program. Notices of development and training programs shall be posted for reasonable periods in advance on bulletin boards at applicable work locations within the agencies involved. An appointing authority shall make every effort to permit employees' participation in such career development and training programs. Participation in any training inside or outside of work hours which is required by the State as a condition of fulfilling the requirements of the employee's job, or any in-service State training which is conducted or undertaken during normally scheduled work hours will be considered as time worked. 4. The State shall pay tuition, course-related fees, other approved course required costs and for necessary travel and lodging pursuant to established policies and procedures.
