STO Cash Out. Employees who use no more than forty (40) hours of leave for purposes of illness regardless of how the time is charged (i.e. Sick, STO, First Day STO Sick, Leave Without Pay), for a period of one full calendar year shall be allowed to cash out up to forty (40) hours of STO with an option to cash out an additional forty (40) hours of STO. Eligible employees shall submit their request to the Office of Labor Relations during the month of January and payment shall be made during the month of February during each calendar year of this Agreement. Requests shall be in writing and contain the following information: Name, rank, social security number, number of hours to be cashed out, verification that requirements for cash out are met and a statement that all information is provided under penalty of perjury.

Those employees who use no sick leave during that period have an option to cash out an additional 40 hours of STO (for a total of 80 hours). Eligible employees shall submit their request to ESA Human Resources during the month of January and payment shall be made during the month of February. Sick leave charged for any purpose (i.e., bereavement leave) is used to determine STO cash out eligibility.
STO Cash Out. Employees may request to cash out up to eighty (80) STO hours earned during the calendar year, paid out at the employee’s current pay rate exclusive of any premium pays or differentials, but to do so, employees must make an irrevocable election on a form provided by the County in November of the preceding calendar year of the number of hours to cash out in the upcoming calendar year in which they are earned. An employee’s failure to elect a specific cash out amount in November for the following year shall preclude the employee from cashing out any STO hours. Employees may elect to receive payment of the elected hours at any time during the calendar year for which the election was made, up to the amount the employee has actually accrued that year. Hours that have been accrued and elected for cash out, and that remain uncashed, will be cashed out to the employee by the Controller’s Office in pay period 25 of the payroll calendar year.

Those employees who use no sick leave during that period have with an option to cash out an additional 40 hours of STO (for a total of 80 hours). Eligible employees shall submit their request to Labor Relations ESA Human Resources during the month of January of 2007 (or January 2008 or January 2009 for the following year) and payment shall be made during the month of February 2007 (or February 2008 or February 2009 respectively). Sick leave charged for any purpose (i.e., bereavement leave) is used to determine STO cash out eligibility. ARTICLE 1315 - LAYOFF PROCEDURES When the County determines that a layoff is imminent within the bargaining unit, it shall give the Union such advance notice as is reasonable under the circumstances. Such notice shall describe the general areas which may be affected and the circumstances requiring the layoff. Upon request, the Union shall be afforded the opportunity to meet with the County to discuss these matters and any proposed alternatives.
STO Cash Out. Employees who use no sick leave for a period of one year beginning pay period 16/01, December 21, 2015 through December 18, 2016 and each December to December period thereafter during the term of this Understanding, shall be allowed to cash out forty (40) hours of STO with an option to cash out an additional forty (40) hours of STO. Eligible employees shall submit their request to the Office of Labor Relations during the month of January 2017 and each January thereafter and payments shall be made during the month of February 2017 and each February thereafter. Employees must complete and submit the required STO Cash-Out Request form by the required deadline. Incomplete forms or late submittals will not be accepted. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that his/her STO Cash-Out Request was received by the deadline.
