STO Cash Out. Employees who use no more than forty (40) hours of leave for purposes of illness regardless of how the time is charged (i.e. Sick, STO, First Day STO Sick, Leave Without Pay), for a period of one full calendar year shall be allowed to cash out up to forty (40) hours of STO with an option to cash out an additional forty (40) hours of STO. Eligible employees shall submit their request to the Office of Labor Relations during the month of January and payment shall be made during the month of February during each calendar year of this Agreement. Requests shall be in writing and contain the following information: Name, rank, social security number, number of hours to be cashed out, verification that requirements for cash out are met and a statement that all information is provided under penalty of perjury.
STO Cash Out. Employees may cash out available STO balance. Cash outs may be requested at any time during the year. Cash outs must be for a minimum of 40 hours.

Employees who use no sick leave for a period of one year beginning pay period 13/01 December 24, 2012, through pay period 14/26 December 22, 2013, shall be allowed to cash out forty (40) hours of STO with an option to cash out an additional forty (40) hours of STO. Employees who use no more than 16 hours of sick leave for a period of one year beginning pay period 13/01 December 24, 2012 through pay period, 13/26 December 22, 2013, and each December to December period thereafter during the term of this agreement, June 24, 2013 through June 22, 2014, shall be allowed to cash out forty (40) hours of STO. Those employees who use no sick leave during that period have an option to cash out an additional 40 hours of STO (for a total of 80 hours). Eligible employees shall submit their request to ESA Human Resources during the month of January and payment shall be made during the month of February. Sick leave charged for any purpose (i.e., bereavement leave) is used to determine STO cash out eligibility.

Effective at the beginning of the first calendar year after ratification by the Board of Supervisors, Eemployees who use no sick more than forty (40) hours of leave for the purposes of illness regardless of how the time is charged (i.e. Sick, STO, Leave Without Pay), for a period of one full calendar year beginning pay period 1622/01, December 2127, 201521 through December 1825, 201622 and the beginning of each December to December first pay period of the year through the end of the last pay period of the year thereafter during the term of this Understanding, shall be allowed to cash out forty (40) hours or eighty (80) of STO with an option to cash out an additional forty (40) for no more than a total of eighty (80) hours of STO. Eligible employees shall submit their request to the Office of Labor Relations during the month of January 201723 and each January thereafter and payments shall be made during the month of February 201723 and each February thereafter. To fulfill the contractual obligation of Section 10.2(e) in the previous MOU, Senior Park Rangers and Park Rangers who use no sick leave for a period of one year beginning pay period 21/01, December 28, 2020 through December 26, 2021 shall be allowed to cash out forty (40) hours of STO with an option to cash out an additional forty (40) hours of STO. Eligible employees shall submit their request to the Office of Labor Relations during the month of January 2022 and payments shall be made during the month of February 2022. Employees must complete and submit the required STO Cash-Out Request form by the required deadline. Incomplete forms or late submittals will not be accepted. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that his/her STO Cash-Out Request was received by the deadline.
