SUPERIOR DUTY PAY. The parties agreed to improve superior duty pay compensation as well as adding clarification when superior duty compensation is to be paid. Effective July 1, 2021, employees who are assigned task(s) that fall outside their scope of responsibility shall be paid a premium of seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour while performing the pre-approved task(s). This is an increase of fifteen cents ($0.15) per hour over the current premium of sixty cents ($0.60) per hour. Additional language has been added to confirm that the current supervisory premium only applies when supervision is not considered to already fall within the employees’ scope of responsibility. Changes have also been made to the premium that is paid when employees are substantially performing the duties of a higher position. The provision now requires the employee to actually replace another employee in the higher position and not just substantially perform duties of the higher position. When an employee is assigned to replace another employee in a higher paid position the employee will be paid at one of the steps of the higher paid position. This premium must be at the lowest step of the higher paid position that provides for at least a 5% increase to their current salary. New language has also been added to the premium for special project work. This provision now requires the project to have clearly defined goals, objectives, responsibilities, timelines, expected outcomes, and be related to a division goal in order for an employee to be eligible for the special project premium. The amount of the premium is dependent upon the complexity of the work and will be no less than 5% of their current salary.

  • Special Duty Pay (A) High Work Differential. When an employee is required to perform work more than twenty (20) feet directly above the ground or water and use of safety ropes, scaffolds, boatswain chairs or other similar safety devices are required for support, the employee shall receive a high work differential. Rate: One dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour.

  • Injured on Duty Pay An employee who, in the ordinary course of employment, while acting in a reasonable and prudent manner and in compliance with the established rules and procedures of the Appointing Authority, incurs a disabling injury stemming from the aggressive and/or intentional and overt act of a person, or which is incurred while attempting to apprehend or take into custody such person, shall receive compensation in an amount equal to the difference between the employee's regular rate of pay and benefits paid under Workers' Compensation, without deduction from the employee's accrued sick leave. Such compensation shall not exceed an amount equal to two hundred forty (240) times the employee's regular hourly rate of pay per disabling injury.

  • Hazardous Duty Pay Employees who have consented and are required to perform asbestos work will continue to be eligible for a 50% work differential for time spent performing such duties. This differential shall be paid 1/10 hour increments, including time spent by the employee changing into and removing program specified clothing and equipment. Maryland Port employees who are currently covered under the $ 10.00 per hour, or 50% per hour of the hourly wage whichever is greater, chrome pay differential, will continue to receive differential. This provision will also cover any existing hazardous duty differential currently provided.

  • Longevity Pay Effective July 1, 2008, employees at ten (10) years of County service shall receive a two and one-half percent (2.5%) longevity pay differential.
