Teaching Workload of Faculty Employees. (a) Subject to Article 13.2(b), within a normal workload, "normal teaching load" within a Faculty shall be defined by past practice in relation to the number of full-course equivalents taught per faculty member or as may be agreed to hereafter by the parties. (b) Subject to approval by the appropriate xxxx, the appropriate chairperson or equivalent shall, with due notice and consultation, assign teaching duties to individual faculty members in accordance with the provisions of Article 25 of the Collective Agreement in the light of the individual's discipline, abilities and specialties, and consistent with the normal teaching load of the faculty and department in question. As a part of the normal workload assignment the chairperson or equivalent may assign teaching in the Summer Session in consultation with the Faculty member. Teaching as a part of normal workload assignment shall not be scheduled over more than two semesters within one academic year. Teaching duties shall include, but not be limited to, advising students and prospective students, and conducting scheduled classes. (c) No later than June 30th, the employer shall provide each individual faculty member with their teaching schedule for the next year subject to situations of extreme urgency, such as changes in enrollment, sudden illness or unplanned resignations that may occur over the summer. (i) An employee may, with the agreement of his/her chairperson, undertake more than the normal teaching load for his/her department. Normally, such an arrangement shall be formalized in writing between him/herself and the appropriate chairperson, and shall be included in the employee's dossier for promotion, career development and scholarly achievement assessments. (ii) Where an employee's performance in research/scholarship, as assessed pursuant to Article 41.3(a), is substantially below the norm and has been so for at least five

Adherence to the normal teaching load shall encompass necessary minor year-to-year fluctuations in an individual's teaching load, these fluctuations balancing out over time. An employee may, with the agreement of chairperson, undertake more than the normal teaching load for department. Normally, such an arrangement shall be formalized in writing between and the appropriate chairperson, and shall be included in the employee's dossier for promotion, career development and scholarly achievement assessments. Where an employee's performance in as assessed pursuant to Article is substantially below the norm and has been so for at least five (5) consecutive years, the xxxx may assign the employee more than the normal teaching load for the employee's department. Such additional assignment shall not exceed one (1) full-course equivalent in any academic year. This assignment shall be formalized in writing by the xxxx, and shall be included in the employee's dossier for promotion, career development and achievement award assessments.

  • Employee Workload ‌ The Employer shall ensure that an employee’s workload is not unsafe as a result of employee absence(s). Employees may refer safety related workload concerns to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee for investigation under Article 22.3 (Occupational Health and Safety Committee).

  • Contractor Certification for Contractor Employees Introduction Texas Education Code Chapter 22 requires entities that contract with school districts to provide services to obtain criminal history record information regarding covered employees. Contractors must certify to the district that they have complied. Covered employees with disqualifying criminal histories are prohibited from serving at a school district. Definitions: Covered employees: Employees of a contractor or subcontractor who have or will have continuing duties related to the service to be performed at the District and have or will have direct contact with students. The District will be the final arbiter of what constitutes direct contact with students. Disqualifying criminal history: Any conviction or other criminal history information designated by the District, or one of the following offenses, if at the time of the offense, the victim was under 18 or enrolled in a public school: (a) a felony offense under Title 5, Texas Penal Code; (b) an offense for which a defendant is required to register as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure; or (c) an equivalent offense under federal law or the laws of another state. I certify that: NONE (Section A) of the employees of Contractor and any subcontractors are covered employees, as defined above. If this box is checked, I further certify that Contractor has taken precautions or imposed conditions to ensure that the employees of Contractor and any subcontractor will not become covered employees. Contractor will maintain these precautions or conditions throughout the time the contracted services are provided. OR SOME (Section B) or all of the employees of Contractor and any subcontractor are covered employees. If this box is checked, I further certify that: (1) Contractor has obtained all required criminal history record information regarding its covered employees. None of the covered employees has a disqualifying criminal history.

  • Contractor Key Personnel ‌ The Contractor shall assign a Corporate OASIS SB Program Manager (COPM) and Corporate OASIS SB Contract Manager (COCM) as Contractor Key Personnel to represent the Contractor as primary points-of-contact to resolve issues, perform administrative duties, and other functions that may arise relating to OASIS SB and task orders solicited and awarded under OASIS SB. Additional Key Personnel requirements may be designated by the OCO at the task order level. There is no minimum qualification requirements established for Contractor Key Personnel. Additionally, Contractor Key Personnel do not have to be full-time positions; however, the Contractor Key Personnel are expected to be fully proficient in the performance of their duties. The Contractor shall ensure that the OASIS SB CO has current point-of-contact information for both the COPM and COCM. In the event of a change to Contractor Key Personnel, the Contractor shall notify the OASIS SB CO and provide all Point of Contact information for the new Key Personnel within 5 calendar days of the change. All costs associated with Contractor Key Personnel duties shall be handled in accordance with the Contractor’s standard accounting practices; however, no costs for Contractor Key Personnel may be billed to the OASIS Program Office. Failure of Contractor Key Personnel to effectively and efficiently perform their duties will be construed as conduct detrimental to contract performance and may result in activation of Dormant Status and/or Off-Ramping (See Sections H.16. and H.17.).

  • Contractor’s Employees Contractor may, in its discretion and at its own expense, employ such assistants as Contractor deems necessary to perform the Services. If any specific employee is designated in Schedule 1 to perform the Services, Contractor may only replace such designated employee with SMUD’s prior written approval, and with a replacement satisfactory to SMUD. SMUD may not control, direct, or supervise Contractor or Contractor’s Representatives in the performance of the Services. Contractor agrees to assume full responsibility for the payment and deduction of all state and federal taxes and benefits from Contractor’s Representatives, including but not limited to any applicable payroll and income taxes, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, retirement, workers’ compensation, pension, or other social security benefits for all persons or entities employed or retained by Contractor in the performance of the Services under this Agreement, and if applicable for all self-employment and other taxes incurred by Contractor in the performance of the Services.

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION TO ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES ‌ (a) At the time of hire new employees will be advised that a collective agreement is in effect and of the conditions of employment set out in the articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. (b) A new employee shall also be provided with: (1) the name, location and work telephone number of the xxxxxxx; and (2) an authorization form for union dues check-off. (c) Upon request, the xxxxxxx shall be advised of the name, location and work telephone number of the new employee. (d) The xxxxxxx will be given an opportunity to interview each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for 15 minutes sometime during the first 30 days of employment. (e) The Union will provide the Employer with an up-to-date list of stewards' names, work locations and work telephone numbers in order that the Employer may meet its obligation in (b)(1) above. (f) The Union will be provided with a copy of the completed and signed authorization form for dues check-off for all new employees.

  • Supervisory Employees ‌ For the purposes of this Article, the parties agree that Supervisory positions are those that are not excluded under Article 2.0 above and that satisfy the following criteria: a) Employees on Salary Schedule 01 who under Plan A "Nature of Supervision" have either Degree 3 (or higher) or its equivalent; b) Employees on Schedules 02 or 03 on condition they normally supervise other employees.

  • EMPLOYEE WORK YEAR 9.1 The work year shall be as follows:

  • Contractor’s Employees and Subcontractors (a) Contractor shall only disclose PII to Contractor’s employees and subcontractors who need to know the PII in order to provide the Services and the disclosure of PII shall be limited to the extent necessary to provide such Services. Contractor shall ensure that all such employees and subcontractors comply with the terms of this DPA. (b) Contractor must ensure that each subcontractor performing functions pursuant to the Service Agreement where the subcontractor will receive or have access to PII is contractually bound by a written agreement that includes confidentiality and data security obligations equivalent to, consistent with, and no less protective than, those found in this DPA. (c) Contractor shall examine the data security and privacy measures of its subcontractors prior to utilizing the subcontractor. If at any point a subcontractor fails to materially comply with the requirements of this DPA, Contractor shall: notify the EA and remove such subcontractor’s access to PII; and, as applicable, retrieve all PII received or stored by such subcontractor and/or ensure that PII has been securely deleted and destroyed in accordance with this DPA. In the event there is an incident in which the subcontractor compromises PII, Contractor shall follow the Data Breach reporting requirements set forth herein. (d) Contractor shall take full responsibility for the acts and omissions of its employees and subcontractors. (e) Contractor must not disclose PII to any other party unless such disclosure is required by statute, court order or subpoena, and the Contractor makes a reasonable effort to notify the EA of the court order or subpoena in advance of compliance but in any case, provides notice to the EA no later than the time the PII is disclosed, unless such disclosure to the EA is expressly prohibited by the statute, court order or subpoena.

  • EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING 1. The State agrees to provide advice and counseling to employees with respect to career advancement opportunities and agency developments which have an impact on their careers. 2. Regular review of its job-related and career development and training programs will be made by the State in order to provide suitable programs for employees covered by this Agreement. When undertaking any such review, the State shall notify employees of such review and take into account suggestions and proposals made by employees. 3. Employees shall be given a reasonable notice of applicable, development and training programs available. Such notice shall include an explanation of the procedure for applying for the program. Notices of development and training programs shall be posted for reasonable periods in advance on bulletin boards at applicable work locations within the agencies involved. An appointing authority shall make every effort to permit employees' participation in such career development and training programs. Participation in any training inside or outside of work hours which is required by the State as a condition of fulfilling the requirements of the employee's job, or any in-service State training which is conducted or undertaken during normally scheduled work hours will be considered as time worked. 4. The State shall pay tuition, course-related fees, other approved course required costs and for necessary travel and lodging pursuant to established policies and procedures.
