The Xxxx shall then provide each Faculty Member of the Faculty an opportunity to respond to their tentative assignment before the Xxxx finalizes the workload assignments. Specific Teaching assignments will be finalized before July 1st. If a Faculty Member encounters difficulty with the workload plan assigned by the Xxxx, the Faculty Member shall indicate to the Xxxx within ten (10) Days of receiving the plan that a meeting is necessary to discuss possible revisions to the plan. c) The Teaching workload for a Faculty Member who is an Assistant Professor in their first year of employment in a University tenure-track position shall be the equivalent of three (3) standard courses.

In assigning this component of a Teaching Faculty Member’s workload and whether there will be any variation in the number of courses, the Xxxx shall consider the following factors: i. the experience of the Teaching Faculty Member; ii. the Teaching Faculty Member’s area of expertise; iii. class size; iv. the number of separate courses/sections taught by the Teaching Faculty Member; v. whether the course or lab is team taught; vi. the number of scheduled contact hours per course; vii. whether the course is to be delivered in a compressed timeframe (e.g., in the Spring/Summer session); viii. whether or not the Teaching Faculty Member has ever taught the material before; ix. whether or not the material or course being taught is newly developed; x. whether the mode of delivery for the course has been changed; xi. what is appropriate and reasonable for the discipline; xii. the number of hours of student counseling/advising; xiii. the number of undergraduate student projects supervised, capstone students, internships, independent study students, clinical supervisions, and undergraduate thesis students; xiv. the extent of teaching support provided by teaching assistants, markers, and similar personnel; and xv. the extent of support provided for designing, setting up, and preparing for Teaching. e) The Xxxx shall consider in particular 16.04 d) i), iii), iv), viii), ix), xiv) and xv) in determining the workload assignment of a Teaching Faculty Member in his/her first year...
Workload Assignment. 30.5.1 Development of the Department’s workload assignment (i.e. Nursing Practice, Classroom Teaching, and Program Support) shall be the responsibility of the School Xxxx in collaboration with the Department Chair and the Members of the Department. The process shall be as follows: (a) The Department shall meet to consider a fair and appropriate schedule of workload assignments in advance of the fall/winter and spring/summer semesters. (b) The Department shall give a Nursing Practice Educator or Faculty Member teaching a course with an assigned nursing practice requirement priority for the associated nursing practice assignment based on expertise in the nursing practice area. (c) When considering the remaining nursing practice assignments, the Department shall recognize that nursing practice education is the key responsibility of Nursing Practice Educators. (d) The Chair shall forward to the Xxxx a schedule of workload assignments proposed by the Department. (e) The Xxxx shall examine the proposed schedule. In the event that she/he determines that the schedule is either unfair or cannot adequately meet the requirements of the program, she/he will meet with the Chair and recommend adjustments. After meeting with the Department, the Chair will respond to the Xxxx regarding any recommended adjustments. (f) The Xxxx shall approve the final schedule of workload assignments decided upon by the Xxxx by June 1 for the following fall, winter and spring or summer terms.

Workload Assignment. Except for bargaining unit member librarians, the college Xxxx shall assign workload according to the Xxxxxxx’x Workload Guidelines and forward such assignments to the Xxxxxxx for final approval. Departmental needs shall be the basis for assignments. If unforeseen events occur or departmental needs change during the year, a bargaining unit member’s assignment may be modified by the college Xxxx and forwarded to the Xxxxxxx for final approval.

Workload Assignment. ‌ 16.1 The Parties recognize the Employer’s responsibility to determine work assignments. A combination of factors including program delivery model, administrative responsibilities, major program/curriculum development, historical instructional hours and special assignments will be used in assigning workloads. Assignments will be made as provided for in the Faculty Workload Assignment Policy and Procedure. 16.2 If an individual Employee, after consultation with their immediate supervisor, is unsatisfied with their workload assignment, the employee may, as soon as possible, but in any case within five (5) working days of notification of the assignment, or change to the assignment, request a meeting with the Workload Review Committee. The request for a meeting shall be in writing to the chair of the committee and shall specify the basis of the Employee’s dissatisfaction. If there are written submissions from more than one Employee which are substantially similar, the chair of the Workload Review Committee may decide to address them together in a Workload Review Committee meeting if the Employees request this. In this case, the Employees will be represented by no more than three of the Employees who have made submissions. 16.3 The committee shall meet within ten (10) working days of receipt of the request. 16.4 The Workload Review Committee is an ad hoc committee that shall be structured as follows: i) Chair – Vice President, Academic, or designee; ii) A faculty representative appointed by the Faculty Association; and iii) A representative appointed by the Xxxx of the relevant program. 16.5 The Employee and the Xxxx involved shall have the opportunity to make representations concerning the matter to the committee. The faculty representative and the Xxxx’x representative shall make recommendations to the chair, and the decision of the chair shall be final and binding. The decision shall be delivered to the Employee and to the Xxxx or Director of the relevant program no later than five (5) working days after the meeting of the committee. The Employee may appeal to the chair of the Workload Committee if the recommendations of the committee are not carried out.
