Time and Basis of Evaluation. The Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent at least once each year during the term of this Contract. The Board's evaluation and assessment of the Superintendent shall be reasonably related to the duties of the Superintendent as outlined in the Superintendent's job description and shall be based on the District's progress towards accomplishing the District Goals.

By June 1 of each year of this Contract, using the agreed-upon evaluation criteria, the Superintendent shall provide the Board a written self-appraisal of accomplishments and attainment of goals beginning June 1, 2018. After the Board receives the Superintendent's self-appraisal, the Board President and the Superintendent shall meet to discuss the written evaluation and related matters. By July 1 of each year of this Contract, the Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent using the agreed-upon evaluation criteria. The Board's evaluation of the Superintendent shall include, but not be limited to, a review of the Superintendent's self-appraisal of his accomplishments and attainment of the goals. Further, the evaluation shall be reasonably related to the goals and the duties of the Superintendent as outlined in paragraph 2.B. of this Contract. By July l of each year of this Contract, the Board shall provide the Superintendent with a copy of the completed evaluation form. The Superintendent shall have the right to respond to the Board's written evaluation in writing not later than thirty (30) calendar days after receiving the written evaluation.

The Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent at least once each year during the term of this Contract; provided, however, the Board may conduct an evaluation of the Superintendent in closed session at any time, in its discretion, or at the request of the Superintendent. The Board’s evaluation and assessment of the Superintendent shall be reasonably related to the duties of the Superintendent as outlined in state and federal statutes and regulations, Board policy, and the Superintendent’s job description; and shall be based at least in part on the District’s progress toward accomplishing the District Goals and the Superintendent’s progress toward accomplishing the Superintendent’s Performance Goals. The Superintendent shall be responsible for placing on the Board’s meeting agendas the meetings necessary to accomplish the Board and Superintendent annual responsibilities of this paragraph.

The evaluation format and procedure shall be in accordance with the Board's policies and state and federal law.
