Trainee Driller. A Trainee is an employee new to the workplace, undertaking an induction period of up to 3 months. During the induction period, a Trainee will undertake structured training related to the work and required duties, so as to enable the employee to be classified as a Level 1. An employee at this level performs duties to the level of his/her training, in addition to performing training duties under direct supervision in accordance with the induction program. Note: An employee who transfers temporarily or permanently to a new location will not be re-classified as a Trainee. Note HR Licence Compulsory for all drilling classifications
Trainee Driller. Grade 1 – Trainee Training will commence for employees at this level shall possess a Certificate II Driller’s Offsider qualification based on achieving the compulsory competencies of a Grade 1 and Grade 2 levels, hold a QLD transport Heavy Rigid licence and on completion of the training application process and rig allocation has been completed. Employees will be required to undertake the compulsory and rig specific competencies below. The Competencies below are derived from the Australian Drilling Industry Training Committee Ltd (A.D.I.T.C). Competencies Required: Compulsory • DRTNHB20A – Set Up and Prepare for Drilling Operations • DRTNHB21A – Run On-Site Operations • DRTNHB22A – Carry Out Operational Maintenance • DRTNHB23A – Carry Out Informal On The Job Training • MNCG1038 – Basic Cutting and Welding • MNCG1050– Operate Vehicle Loading Crane (If Applicable) • MNCG1033 Conduct Lifting Operations • QMS123 Course (Site Safety & Health Representative) • Senior First Aid Course Competencies Required: Drill Rig Specific • DRTNHB27A – Conduct Air Drilling • DRTNHB30A – Conduct Conventional Core Drilling • DRTNHB31A – Conduct Wire Line Core Drilling • DRTNHB36A – Conduct Mud Rotary Drilling • DRTNHB39A – Conduct Down Hole Hammer Drilling • DRTOG30C – Carry Out Well Control and Blow Out Prevention (in process) Achievement of the above compulsory competencies and rig specific competencies will result in the employee’s attainment of the Certificate III Drilling Competency qualification. Failure to successfully complete the compulsory and rig specific competencies will result in the employee not being reallocated to the classification of Driller Grade1. Remuneration will be paid for Driller Grade 1 Certificate III on receipt of certificates from the RTO and entry onto the training Matrix, verification letter sent to pay roll. Schedule 3
