Induction Program. It is the intent of the District and the Association to develop and implement a credential preparation program that will assist teachers holding a preliminary credential to achieve their professional clear credential. It is the intent of the Parties to this Agreement that this “Learning to Teach” program will enable exemplary teachers to serve as mentors to assist Induction Program Teachers with advanced curriculum preparation, formative assessment, personal induction plans and mastering the application of prior learning. This Program is part of a coordinated effort by the Association and the District to train, strengthen and retain employees.

Induction Program. During the induction period, a Mentor rather than supervisory relationship shall exist between the Induction Team and the Inductee. No materials gathered, observations made, or critiques given by mentor shall be incorporated into or in any way be part of evaluation of any employee involved in the program. The employer shall certify to the Department of Education upon the expiration of the induction period for each Inductee that the employee's induction period has been completed. Inductees shall be held harmless in the event the employer fails or refuses to certify completion of the program. Mentors shall receive additional compensation as set forth in Article V, Section 9 of this agreement.
Induction Program. Effective July 1, 2018, unit members in probationary or permanent contracts who meet the eligibility requirements of the District-approved California Teacher Induction Program (formerly BTSA) will not be required to make any financial contributions to participate.

It is understood that the purpose of such participation is to provide peer assistance and that the Consulting Teachers/Support Provider (BTSA) shall play no role in the evaluation of the teaching performance of a BP Teacher. The evaluation of the BP Teacher is the sole responsibility of the MCOE evaluator.

Induction Program. The EMPLOYER shall maintain an induction program in accordance with regulations of the State Board of Education, which shall have as a minimum the following components:
Induction Program. 1. The Induction Program/Process The induction process includes a program that provides support for teachers with preliminary credentials. Those teachers with preliminary credentials, or practicing teachers (PTs) are partnered with a well-qualified teacher with a clear credential, otherwise known as a Support Provider (SPs). The SPs will meet with PTs on an ongoing basis to provide what is expected by the Induction program with which the District is associated. For SPs to be selected, they must first apply and interview to determine if they meet the qualifications established by the Induction program and by the District. Once the initial interviews are completed, selected SPs may be asked to work with additional PTs. Also, other teachers may be asked to become SPs based on the number of PTs that are within the District. Selection of the additional SPs will be based on the “best fit” for the PT and the District. Support Providers selected will receive the District per-PT stipend, as a percentage of cell E-14 on the Salary Schedule:
Induction Program. Bargaining Unit members who are in the Induction Program will be required to attend an orientation program four (4) days prior to the opening of school. They will also be required to attend monthly District and building meetings as part of the Induction Program and the total hours of all monthly meetings will not exceed twelve (12) hours.
