Tuesday Through Saturday Workweek. The Employer may establish a Tuesday through Saturday work schedule between the hours of 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the straight time rate. The Tuesday through Saturday work schedule will be announced at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance. The changed work schedule will be at least thirty (30) calendar days in duration. Individuals assigned to the optional work schedule will be selected on a voluntary basis in order of seniority. If an insufficient number of employees volunteer to work the optional workweek, the Employer may assign appropriate personnel who have completed their probationary period. Assignments will be made on the basis of seniority with the least senior employee in the job classification being assigned. Temporary Employees who have been employed ninety (90) days may be assigned the Tuesday through Saturday work schedule.

Tuesday Through Saturday Workweek. Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, the Company may establish a Tuesday through Saturday workweek in the Field Service Department and by volunteer-only in the Distribution Department. All work performed during the forty hour work schedule of the Tuesday through Saturday workweek will be paid at straight time. Section 2. The following conditions will apply to the Tuesday through Saturday Workweek: (a) Starting times will be 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. (b) The Tuesday Through Saturday workweek will be staffed with up to twelve employees in the Utility Fitter and higher-rated classifications, as follows: Employees will be given the opportunity in departmental seniority order to volunteer to work Tuesday through Saturday (either every week or every other week) or to work a straight-time schedule of four ten-hour days, Wednesday through Saturday (“4/10 Schedule”), provided that the Company may limit the number of employees who may select any of these options. An employee who volunteers may return to the regular Monday through Friday workweek by giving thirty daysnotice of intent to return. To the extent that fewer than twelve employees volunteer for one of the foregoing options, the Company may require employees who enter the Department after July 1, 2001, in reverse departmental seniority order, to work the Tuesday Through Saturday workweek. As used in this paragraph, the term “departmental seniority” refers to seniority in the Field Service Department regardless of shop location. (c) Employees required to staff the “P”, “N” or “O” shifts Monday through Friday in a week will not be scheduled to work Tuesday through Saturday that week. (d) If the Company observes a holiday on Monday, an employee scheduled to work Tuesday through Saturday that week xxxx observe his/her holiday on the next day, Tuesday. If a holiday falls on Saturday, the employee will observe his/her holiday on Saturday rather than on the preceding Friday. In all other cases, the employee will have his/her holiday on the day specified in Article VIII, Section 10. (e) The Tuesday through Saturday Workweek will not be utilized during the Thanksgiving or Christmas week. (f) The Company will develop the terms and conditions of the 4/10 schedule to achieve both its operating needs and relative fairness between employees assigned to the 4/10 schedule and employees assigned to the traditional work schedule regarding paid- absent-time and other benefits.   • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Monday An employee should not work more than 16 hours and must take an 8 hour break before continuing work. Therefore, an employee called in at 7:00 p.m. Sunday could work until 11:00

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Monday morning The employee should not work more than 16 hours without an 8 hour break.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • Afternoon Shift (i) Afternoon Shift is any shift where the normal ceasing time is later than 6.00 p.m. but not later than midnight. (ii) The additional loading for ordinary hours only shall be twenty-five percent (25%) of the all purpose rate applying to the Employees' classification.
