Use of Illness Leave. With the exception of the five (5) days provided above, pregnancy leave shall be without pay except that all or part of the leave may be charged, at the teacher's discretion, to her available illness leave days. During the first six (6) week period after the date of birth no medical certification of disability will be required in order to use illness leave days. Beyond the six (6) week period after the date of birth, the use of illness leave days may require the certification of disability by the attending physician if requested by the Board.

Use of Illness Leave. Illness leave may be used as accrued by the employee when that employee is incapable of reporting to duty due to an illness or injury to that employee. One (1) day of illness leave per occurrence may also be used in the case of an emergency in the employee’s immediate family or when a member of the employee’s immediate family is hospitalized. A day for a member shall mean up to the length of the currently scheduled shift.
Use of Illness Leave. Illness leave may be used as accrued when that employee is incapable of reporting to duty due to an illness or injury to that employee. Illness leave may also be used as accrued to care for a family member as defined in RCW 49.12 (parent, parent-in-law, child, spouse, or grandparent) who has a serious health condition, or to care for a child under the age of 18. Illness leave may not be used during military leaves of absence. The parties recognize that abuse of the sick leave benefit is an appropriate matter for discipline.
