USE OF PAID TIME OFF DURING LEAVES. Except as otherwise agreed, employees will use any accumulated sick hours if applicable in connection with leaves of absence granted pursuant to this Article. At the employee’s option she/he may use vacation hours. Paid time off utilized during a leave covered by state Workers Compensation or State Disability benefits shall be integrated with the state benefits in order to fully replace the employee’s regular wages, until such benefits are exhausted.

USE OF PAID TIME OFF DURING LEAVES. Except as otherwise agreed, Employees will use any accumulated Paid Time Off (PTO) Plan and extended illness benefits if applicable in connection with leaves of absence granted pursuant to this Article. Paid time off and/or reserve sick benefits utilized during a leave covered by state Workers Compensation or State Disability benefits, such paid time off or accrued reserved sick benefits shall be integrated with the state benefits in order to fully replace the Employee’s regular wages, until such benefits are exhausted.

If the Employee elects to utilize vacation time and/or reserve sick benefits sick time during a leave covered by state Workers Compensation or State Disability benefits, such vacation time or sick time benefits shall be integrated with the state benefits in order to fully replace the Employee’s regular wages, until such benefits are exhausted.

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Benefits During Leave Employees are encouraged to contact the Employer’s Benefits Office (phone # 000-000-0000, xxxxxxxx@xx.xxx) prior to any leave without pay to understand impact on benefits and learn about other points to consider.

  • Accrual During Leave Without Pay No employee who has been granted a leave without pay or unpaid military leave shall accrue any vacation credit during the time of such leave, nor shall an employee who is absent without pay accrue vacation credit during the absence.

  • Bereavement During Vacation Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.04. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.

  • Sick Leave During Vacation Where an employee qualifies for sick leave due to illness or injury during the period of vacation time, sick leave shall displace vacation leave. An illness or injury occurring while the employee is on scheduled vacation time shall not be accepted as a claim for sick leave benefits unless recuperation involves hospitalization or confinement to bed by order of a medical practitioner. Written medical verification of such illness or injury and hospitalization or confinement must be provided to the Employer in order for the employee to be eligible for sick leave benefits.

  • Benefits During Layoff Temporary Full-Time and Regular Full-Time Employees who have gained seniority rights and who are laid off from employment due to lack of work shall be entitled to leave without pay status until the end of the calendar month following the month during which layoff occurs, for purpose of continuing coverage under the Health and Welfare Benefit plans on which they have been enrolled, e.g., B.C. Medical, Extended Health, Dental Plan, Group Life Insurance, Long Term Total Disability Plan, and Optional Additional Life Insurance coverage. The City agrees to ensure that such leave without pay status and benefit coverage continues in effect at the employee's cost during such period, provided that such cost is paid in advance by or recovered from the employee concerned.
