Vacation Pay Reduction. (a) Vacation pay shall be reduced on a pro-rated basis if an employee is absent for more than a total of fifteen (15) working days due to temporary lay-off, GDOs, weekly indemnity, long-term disability, unauthorized absence, or unpaid leave of absence. The first fifteen (15) working days absence for any one or more of the above reasons shall not be counted when determining the pro-rated reduction of vacation pay due to such absences. (b) Vacation pay shall be reduced on a pro-rated basis if an employee is absent for more than a total of thirty (30) working days due to Workers’ Compensation claims.

Vacation pay reduction will not reduce entitlement below two weeks (SO hours). Effective with vacation observance, vacation pay reduction will not reduce entitlement by more than two weeks (SO hours). An employee will have the option of taking the lost vacation time without pay or working such time. That is, the employee will sign for all vacation entitlements but may elect to work some of the vacation time, to a maximum of the lost vacation pay.
