Vacation Scheduling. (a) The vacation quota shall not be unduly restrictive and shall only include members of the bargaining unit. Vacation Scheduling. (a) The A. Nurses may submit in writing to their supervisor their preferences for different segments of vacation quota shall not be unduly restrictive and shall only include members for the period May 1 of the bargaining unitcurrent year through the end of April of the next year. Nurses must submit their request by February 1 to allow sufficient time for the Employer to compile and post a vacation leave schedule by March 1. Nurses on this schedule shall have priority and will be granted vacation leave at the times specified, if possible. Vacation scheduling for nurses requesting segments will have priority over nurse requests for individual days off.
(b) B. In the event that two (2) or more nurses request the same vacation period and the supervisor must limit the number of conflictpeople who may take vacation leave at one time due to business needs and work requirements, seniority shall govern with respect to scheduling of vacations.
(c) A week of vacation preference shall be defined determined by seniority for up to three (3) segments of vacation, except as seven (7) consecutive calendar days which includes provided in Subsection D, below. A “segment” is five (5) or more contiguous days of vacation days leave including holidays and two (2) days off.
(d) Vacation C. In addition to vacation leave approved in Subsection B above, nurses may commence request vacation leave at any time on any day a first come, first served basis. Approval of supplemental requests shall take into consideration program demands, operational needs and the weekannual vacation leave schedule.
(e) Weekends prior D. Annual vacation scheduling for the week in which the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day will be approved on a seniority basis if there are no conflicting requests. If there are conflicting requests, then the same vacation period will not be granted to and following the same nurse annually so that equitable access exists in obtaining vacation time. The week will begin at 12:01 a.m. on the Sunday preceding the holiday.
E. Nurses shall not request or be authorized to take scheduled vacation leave if they will not have sufficient vacation leave to cover such absence at the time requested vacation is to be scheduled offtaken.

(2) An employee who does not exercise his/her seniority rights within two (2) weeks of the weekvacation being posted shall not be entitled to exercise those rights in respect to any vacation time previously selected by an employee with less seniority.
(3) An employee who transfers to another work location where the vacation schedule has already been completed will not be entitled to exercise his/her seniority rights for that year only. However, every effort shall be made to grant vacation at the time of the employee's choice.
(4) The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to contact employees who are absent in order to establish such employee's preference for vacation.
(e) Weekends prior to Vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer, shall not be changed, other than in cases of emergency, except by mutual agreement between the employee and following scheduled vacation will be scheduled offthe Employer.
(f) Single Employees engaged in work which is not of a continuous nature who qualify for vacation days leave pursuant to this clause may be granted restricted as long as the nurse provides three (3) working days notice and subject to operational requirements.
(g) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to hospitalization/serious illness which commenced prior to and continues into scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness may be considered sick leave. Vacation Scheduling. (aA) The A nurse must complete six (6) months of continuous employment before being eligible to use accrued vacation quota shall not be unduly restrictive and shall only include members time. Subject to the operating needs of the bargaining unitHospital, and the procedures set forth below, vacation may be taken at any time during the year, and in increments of less than one week, if so desired.
