– WAGES AND MATTERS INCIDENTAL THERETO. 6.01 The Employer shall pay wages bi-weekly to its employees in accordance with Schedule "A." All wages shall be paid through automatic bank deposit. 6.02 Employees required to work afternoon shift shall be paid an hourly shift differential based on the lowest pay grade multiplied by 4%. Employees required to work night shift shall be paid an hourly shift differential based on the lowest pay grade multiplied by 5%. Employees required to work on Saturday or Sunday shall receive a weekend bonus paid as an hourly shift differential, based on the lowest pay grade multiplied by 6%. The payment of the weekend bonus shall not preclude payment of the afternoon or night shift differential. 6.03 When an employee is temporarily assigned to a position paying a lower rate, their rate shall not be reduced. 6.04 When an employee is temporarily required to perform substantially the duties of another position for more than one (1) day they shall receive the rate for the position, or their regular rate, whichever is greater. If the employee continues in the position for more than one (1) day the employee shall receive the applicable rate from the first day. 6.05 Custodial Staff shall receive an allowance of $125.00 per year to be used for the purchase of work clothing.

– WAGES AND MATTERS INCIDENTAL THERETO. 6.01 The setting out of a job classification and accompanying wage rate in the wage schedules attached to this Agreement shall not bind the employer to create or fill such position. It is understood, however, that the Union retains the right to grieve the classification or reclassification of any employee or group of employees covered under this Agreement. 6.02 Employees shall be classified as per Schedule “C” attached hereto and forming part of this Agreement. The Employer shall pay wages bi-weekly to its employees in accordance with Schedule “A”. 6.03 In the event of a new position being created or where there is a substantial change in job content of an existing position, a temporary rate shall be set by the Employer in reasonable relationship to existing rates set forth in the Wage Schedule of this Agreement. In the case of a change in job content either the Employer, employee or the Union may refer the matter to the Joint Job Evaluation Committee by following the procedures set out in the attached Letter of UnderstandingMaintenance Plan for Job Descriptions, Classifications and Changes to Classifications.” All new positions shall be referred to the committee. 6.04 Shift Premiums 6.05 When an employee is temporarily required to perform substantially the duties of a higher-rated position he shall receive the rate of pay for the higher-rated position for all time worked in that position. 6.06 When an employee is temporarily assigned to a position paying a lower rate, his rate shall not be reduced. 6.07 Employees shall receive payment for non-instructional days on the condition that the employee works his regular hours at a job assigned by the Employer. 6.08 Where employees are required to participate in job-related education courses all hours worked up to eight (8) hours per day shall be paid straight time. 6.09 Employees shall not be required, as a condition of employment, to supply a vehicle to perform their duties. Employees who use their vehicle for Employer business will be covered under a blanket insurance program provided by the Employer.
