Education Courses. (a) The Board will pay a Teacher presently in Category A4 who earns a post graduate degree recognized by QECO 5 which has not been used to determine Category placement in A4, a one-time allowance of five hundred ($500) per degree.

Education Courses. Where employees are required by the Employer to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Employer shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Time spent by an employee in the attendance at short courses, workshops, or seminars (e.g. courses) if required by the Centre and directly related to the employee’s employment at the Centre, shall be deemed to be work hours as set out in Article Hours of Work and remunerated accordingly. It is understood and agreed that no overtime payment will be incurred by the Employer for any time spent by an employee on any Education Leave or In-service Courses.
Education Courses. All employees who successfully complete educational courses approved by the Employer in advance shall be reimbursed for the amount expended by the employee in payment of the tuition for such courses and the reimbursement for textbooks necessary for completion of the course, up to Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) per semester, up to two semesters per fiscal year, per employee provided the employees attain a grade of “C” or better (grade point average of 2.0 or better) in said course. To be entitled to reimbursement, employees must take courses for a letter grade if such option exists. If a course is offered pass/fail only, the employee will be reimbursed 100% of the amount expended if the employee receives a grade of pass. Two (2) years of additional service with the City is required at the end of completion of each semester; otherwise, the aforesaid tuition reimbursement must be repaid to the City by the employee. The City reserves the right to deduct the same from any payments, including, but not limited to, salary, vacation, and sick leave, owed to the employee at the time of termination of service with the City, irrespective of the reason.
Education Courses. 25.1 The Employer shall pay the cost of a work-related academic or technical course, work-related convention or seminar approved by the applicable Director and/or designate. If an employee’s application for approval is denied, the employee shall be given the reason in writing. If the staff member leaves the employment of Middlesex- London Health Unit within three years of completing the course, they must repay the amount provided, on a proportionate basis.
Education Courses. During each year of the current contract, members may take a college course, seminar, or workshop, which will assist them in their clerical employment. Education Courses. Employees attending education courses at the Employer’s request shall be compensated for hours beyond the normal work week at time and one-half (1 ½). The employee may choose to be paid for such overtime or elect to take time off in lieu, at a time which is mutually agreeable. The length of time off with pay shall be equal to straight time equivalent to the overtime earnings. Travel time to and from the course location shall be paid at straight time. Employees shall be paid mileage from their branch to and from the course location.

Meets Standard: Consistent with the school’s status and responsibilities as a school within a single LEA under the State Department of Education, the school materially complies with applicable laws, rules, regulations and provisions of the charter contract (including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act) relating to the treatment of students with identified disabilities and those suspected of having a disability, including but not limited to: • Equitable access and opportunity to enroll • Identification and referral • Appropriate development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Section 504 plans • Operational compliance including the academic program, assessments and all other aspects of the school’s program and responsibilities • Discipline, including due process protections, manifestation determinations and behavioral intervention plans • Access to the school’s facility and program to students in a lawful manner and consistent with students’ IEPs or Section 504 plans • Appropriate use of all available, applicable funding Measure 1d Is the school protecting the rights of English Language Learner (ELL) students?
