After every 10 years of continuous service (including with an overseas health organisation approved by the New Zealand government as part of a foreign policy programme), the employee will be entitled to a long service holiday of two weeks. Such leave is to be taken in one continuous spell within five years of qualifying except where employees had an entitlement to long service leave under their previous employment contract.
