Statutory Leave definition

Statutory Leave means, with respect to a Participant, a period of time throughout which the Participant is on a leave of absence to which he or she is entitled under applicable legislation and following which he or she has the right, pursuant to such legislation, to return to active employment with the Corporation or a Subsidiary.
Statutory Leave means leave provided for in Part 8 of the 1996 Act.

Examples of Statutory Leave in a sentence

  • Vesting credit will not continue (and instead will be tolled or suspended) during any leave of absence that is not a Statutory Leave of Absence (a “Personal Leave of Absence”).

  • The specific provisions of a Statutory Leave will be considered read into this Article and the Collective Agreement for each specific instance of Statutory Leave.

  • Members will then choose their Statutory Leave (if applicable) in ascending order of seniority.

  • Bereavement Leave shall include days regularly scheduled to work, regularly scheduled days off, sick days, WSIB leave, and Statutory Leave.

  • Members who have applied for an Extended Leave of Absence shall be considered for such Leave provided the Extended Leave is to be taken immediately following the Statutory Leave.


More Definitions of Statutory Leave

Statutory Leave means pregnancy leave, parental leave, bereavement leave, or a period of attendance at court as a juror;
