An effective induction will assist new members of the service to understand what is expected of them and what they can expect from the service. Interim approval is where a service is permitted to operate notwithstanding that it does not meet a particular requirement under the NQS. These may include questions that begin with ‘what’, ‘where’, ‘when’, ‘which’, ‘why’ and ‘how’. Orientation is a process designed to familiarise children and families with educators, staff, service operations, and daily practices when they commence care.
