Acceptance of an Offer of a Position. (a) An employee will have five (5) working days to consider the formal offer of a position made as a result of exercising his/her bumping rights under Article 13.04.

Acceptance of an Offer of a Position a) An employee will have three working days to consider the offer of a position. The three day period shall be deemed to have commenced at 5:00 p.m. of the day the offer is formally made, or at the end of the employee’s work period on the day the offer is made, whichever is later. If the employee does not accept the offer of the position within the three day period, it will be deemed the employee has declined the offer. The employee within two working days must elect one of the other options in Article 10.5. Once the employee accepts the position, the Employer will advise the employee of the commencement date in the new position and the lay-off notice will be deemed to have been rescinded.

For permanent part-time employees, the following shall apply: If an employee declines an offer of a position in his/her own occupation, classification level and work unit, he/she will be deemed to have resigned and receive severance pay; If an employee declines an offer of a position in a lower classification level within his/her work unit, he/she will be placed on lay-off or he/she may resign and receive severance pay.
