AIDS Policy. A. Contractor agrees, as a condition to provision of services to the Department’s consumers/customers/clients/patients, not to discriminate against any consumer/customer/client/patient who may have AIDS or be infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The Contractor is encouraged to provide or cause to be provided appropriate AIDS training to its employees and to seek AIDS technical advice and assistance from the appropriate division or office of the Department, as the Contractor deems necessary. The Contractor further agrees to refer those consumers/customers/clients/patients requesting additional AIDS related services or information to the appropriate county health department.

AIDS Policy. Individuals who have or are diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Viral Infection or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (“AIDS”), including those who are asymptomatic, are “handicapped“within the meaning of the Human Rights Code. While the Company has an obligation to provide a safe work envi- ronment for employees and safe delivery of services to its customers, it recognizes that individuals with or AIDS have a right to pursue those activities which their conditions allow. Employees with or AIDS will be treated in the same manner as employees with any other handicap as defined by the Human Rights Code. If their fitness for work is affected by or AIDS, the Company will make reasonable efforts to adjust work requirements to accommodate their particular needs. AIDS Policy. Both parties agree that working in the same area as a person who has or who is rumored to have tested positive for HIV Antibodies (AIDS) is not considered placing an employee in imminent danger. An employee who refuses to work in the same area as a person who has allegedly or actually tested positive for AIDS may be disciplined in accordance with OPM regulations.

Notwithstanding subparagraph A above, if the SUBCONTRACTOR is a county board of health it agrees to comply with the Joint Advisory Notice, entitled “Protection Against Occupational Exposure to Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (H IV),” dated October 30, 1987. from the Department of Labor/Department of Health and Human Services and which has been made available to the board. The board further agrees that in the implementation of the DHS’s programs it will follow those standard operation procedures developed and identified by the appropriate program division of DHS as applicable to the specific programs and as provided to the board by the program division. AIDS Policy. Students infected with HIV shall not be denied enrollment/continuation of educational services in school on the sole basis of the HIV status. No information concerning an HIV infected student shall be divulged, directly or indirectly, to any other individual or group without the written consent of the parents/guardians.

  • Policy Because the volume of human genomic and phenotypic data maintained in these repositories is substantial and, in some instances, potentially sensitive (e.g., data related to the presence or risk of developing particular diseases or conditions and information regarding family relationships or ancestry), data must be shared in a manner consistent with the research participants’ informed consent, and the confidentiality of the data and the privacy of participants must be protected. Access to human genomic data will be provided to research investigators who, along with their institutions, have certified their agreement with the expectations and terms of access detailed below. NIH expects that, through Data Access Request (DAR) process, approved users of controlled-access datasets recognize any restrictions on data use established by the Submitting Institutions through the Institutional Certification, and as stated on the dbGaP study page. Definitions of the underlined terminology in this document are found in section 13. The parties to this Agreement include: the Principal Investigator (PI) requesting access to the genomic study dataset (an “Approved User”), the PI’s home institution (the “Requester”) as represented by the Institutional Signing Official designated through the eRA Commons system, and the NIH. The effective date of this Agreement shall be the DAR Approval Date, as specified in the notification of approval of the Data Access Committee (DAC).

  • Harassment Policy It is the policy of CUPE as an Employer to ensure that the working environment is conducive to the performance of work and is such that employees are not hindered from carrying out their responsibilities. The Employer considers harassment in the work force to be a totally unacceptable form of intimidation and will not tolerate its occurrence. The Employer will ensure that victims of harassment are able to register complaints without reprisal. Harassment is a form of discrimination and includes personal harassment. Harassment shall be defined as any improper behaviour by a person which is offensive to any employee and which that person knows or ought reasonably to have known would be inappropriate or unwelcome. It comprises objectionable conduct, comment or display made on either a one-time or continuous basis that demeans, belittles or causes personal humiliation or embarrassment to an employee. The parties to this Agreement will work together to ensure that all employees, and CUPE members understand their personal responsibility to promote a harassment-free working environment. Appendix “U”, herein below shall be followed respecting matters referred to directly herein.

  • Board Policy This Agreement constitutes officially adopted Board policy for the term of said Agreement, and the Board and the Association shall carry out the commitments contained herein and give them full force and effect.

  • Leave Policy Teachers who find they are unable to be present to discharge their assignment of duties should notify the principal as soon as possible or, in the case of sick leave, by 7:30 a.m. If it is necessary to call a substitute, the teacher is to call his principal who, in turn, will make arrangements for a substitute teacher. If the principal cannot be contacted, the teacher is to call the Superintendent and a substitute teacher will be provided. Leave shall be divided into two major classes: Chargeable and Non-chargeable. Chargeable leave is that leave for which a designated number of days are credited to or accrued by a teacher at the beginning of the contract year and upon which the teacher may draw in accordance with this agreement.
