ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 15.01 For Long Term Occasional, experience shall mean the time recognized for remuneration purposes consisting of all properly documented teaching experience gained subsequent to graduation from a Teachers' College or Faculty of Education while teaching on an occasional basis or on a continuous basis under contract with a school board constituted under the Education Act or an educational institution acceptable to the Board and shall be recognized in full to the nearest month as of September 1st of each year.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 16.01 Occasional teaching experience with this Board shall be recognized as teaching experience. Two hundred (200) work days shall constitute one year of experience.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 21.01 (a) Recognized teaching experience for the purpose of Article 19.02 above shall include the following: Elementary or secondary school teaching experience in Ontario on a full time basis that is used to establish step on the grid. This is to be adjusted by the following:
(i) Teaching experience in other schools or other jurisdictions may be used to establish the step on the grid at the time of hiring at the discretion of the Superintendent of Human Resources.
(ii) Experience for part of a year will be credited at 1/10th of the yearly increment per month or major fraction thereof provided that the teaching was on a full time basis and as a regularly employed teacher or an extended occasional teacher's assignment with the Board or any other school board in Ontario. If such teacher was on a part time basis, the increment will be pro-rated. No credit shall be given under Article 21.01 for experience in the current school year.
(iii) At the beginning of the school year, teaching experience in fractions of years will be added to give complete steps for each 10 months if the experience is with the York Catholic District School Board or has been accepted in 21.01 (a) (ii).
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 20.01 Recognized teaching experience for the purpose of article 19.02 above, shall include the following:
a) Elementary or secondary school teaching experience in Ontario on a full time basis that is used to establish step on the grid. This is to be adjusted by the following:

20.02 In determining a long term occasional teacher’s category placement on the salary grid, the Board will be guided by the definitions set out in Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario Programme 5.
20.03 It shall be the responsibility of the long term occasional teacher to provide the Board with a Qualifications Rating Statement and any supporting documents prior to the 15th day of the fifth month of the long term occasional assignment for retroactive adjustment to the first day of the first long term assignment of the current school year.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 13.06 a) Any new Occasional Teacher paid on the grid and employed by the Board after the date of ratification shall be rounded to the nearest full year (up or down) in order to be placed on the wage grid at a full step. (.5 rounds up).
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 18:01 In calculating experience, periods of four (4) or more successive complete teaching months shall be added together. The resulting number of months divided by ten (10) shall be calculated as years of experience. A remainder of six (6) or more months shall be calculated as one (1) year of experience. The experience for any assignment which is less than full-time shall be prorated accordingly.
18:02 Salary adjustments for experience shall be made on September 1 of each year.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. 16.01 All teaching experience, including occasional teaching experience, shall be recognized as teaching experience. One hundred and ninety-four (194) work days shall constitute one year of experience and shall be calculated into the experience placement of the Salary Scale in Article 15.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. An employee hired during the term of this Agreement shall be placed in the wage schedule (Appendix A) in accordance with the following plan:
11.1.2.1 One (1) or More Years of Service. Employees with one (1) or more years of continuous recent service shall be employed at not less than Step 1 of the wage schedule.
11.1.2.2 Two (2) or More Years of Service. Employees with two (2) or more years of continuous recent service shall be employed at not less than Step 2 of the wage schedule.
11.1.2.3 Four (4) or More Years of Service. Employees with four (4) or more years of continuous recent service shall be employed at not less than Step 3 of the wage schedule.
11.1.2.4 Six (6) or More Years of Service. Employees with six (6) or more years of continuous recent service shall be employed at not less than Step 4 of the wage schedule.
11.1.2.5 Ten (10) or More Years of Service. Employees with ten (10) or more years of continuous recent service shall be employed at not less than Step 5 of the wage schedule. “Continuous recent service” shall be defined as hospital experience, or other experience deemed comparable by the Employer in the same job the employee is assuming here at Island Hospital without a break in service of more than two (2) years.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. New employees hired based upon their experience will not be hired in at pay levels which exceed the employee's years of service in the classification. Experience in a related classification outside of Providence Regional Medical Center Everett will not be counted for more than one year for each two years. Experience must be continuous.
ALLOWANCE FOR EXPERIENCE. Occasional Teaching experience, in blocks of twenty (20) or more consecutive full teaching days, shall be recognized as teaching experience. One hundred and eighty (180) teaching days shall constitute one year of experience and shall be calculated into the experience placement of the salary scale in Article XIV.
