Recognized Teaching Experience definition

Recognized Teaching Experience means, Occasional Teachers will be credited with experience in days for teaching on a permanent, probationary or long term contract, or performing duties that require a teaching certificate, pro rated for part time teaching and occasional teaching on a daily basis. All such experience shall be totalled, divided by 194 and rounded to the nearest full year (194 days). Such credited teaching experience will apply to grid experience when the Occasional Teacher is placed on a Long Term Occasional teaching assignment. It is incumbent upon all Occasional Teachers to submit documentary proof of experience to the Board. It is recognized that the primary documentary proof acceptable will be the Teacher’s Pension Plan Service Record indicating the summary of experience, or written confirmation from the prior employing Board including the number of days taught, or such other documentation deemed acceptable by Human Resources.
Recognized Teaching Experience for the purpose of above means previous teaching experience recognized by the Board. The Board shall recognize all qualified regular and occasional teaching experience (including experience while employed on a Letter of Permission) gained in Ontario. One hundred and seventy five ( I75) days of occasional teaching experience shall count as one year of teaching experience. Accumulation of long-term teaching assignments for the purposes of experience recognition shall begin September Accumulation of casual occasional teaching assignments for the purpose of experience recognition shall begin September Experience shall be credited September 1st of each school year. The Board shall provide each Occasional Teacher with a record of the number of casual occasional teaching days and the number of long term occasional teaching days. This shall be provided to each Occasional Teacher no later than August 15th of each year.

Examples of Recognized Teaching Experience in a sentence

Related to Recognized Teaching Experience

  • Teaching Experience means full-time employment as a teacher in a public school, private school licensed or accredited by the State Board of Education, or institution of higher education,

  • Clinical experience means providing direct services to individuals with mental illness or the provision of direct geriatric services or special education services. Experience may include supervised internships, practicums, and field experience.

  • Professional experience means the actual and lawful pursuit of the profession concerned;

  • Nationally recognized testing laboratory means any testing laboratory recognized by the accreditation program of the U.S. department of labor occupational safety and health administration.

  • Experience means “earned premiums” and “incurred claims” during the experience period.

  • Work experience means an activity in the unpaid employment component in which the participant works without pay at a job site to develop good work habits and basic vocational skills that enhance the likelihood the participant will become employed. "Work experience" is available through private for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations, or public agencies.¶

  • Academic year means the period of twelve months beginning on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July or 1st September according to whether the course in question begins in the winter, the spring, the summer or the autumn respectively but if students are required to begin attending the course during August or September and to continue attending through the autumn, the academic year of the course is to be considered to begin in the autumn rather than the summer;

  • traditional leader means the leader of a traditional authority that had been identified by the MEC in terms of section 81 (2) of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act to participate in the proceedings of the council.
