Annual closure. 9.6.1 Annual closure shall be for a period of 15 consecutive working days between 1 December of each year and 31 January of the following year or as otherwise prescribed by the Council from time to time.
9.6.2 During any period of annual closure, no employer shall require or permit an employee to perform work and no employee shall undertake work, whether for remuneration, reward or not.
9.6.3 If the annual closure dates are prescribed by the Council, any establishment may apply to the Council in writing on the prescribed application form for exemption from the prescribed annual closure dates, if the establishment believes that extraordinary circumstances exist that may warrant the granting of an exemption. Such an application for exemption must be supported by not less than 75% of the establishment’s employees who are covered by the scope of this Agreement.

Annual closure. By 31 March of each year, the Contractor shall notify the Publications Office of the date on which his works close partially or completely for the annual holidays. A Contractor who has been commissioned to prepare a periodical shall guarantee to keep an adequate labour force working through the annual holidays to carry out the work assigned to him within the time-limits laid down.
Annual closure. The College will close for an annual shut down period during December and January for a period of time established by the College in advance each year. During this time Employees will be required to take annual leave, or purchased leave, or leave without pay if they have insufficient leave to cover the period. For the avoidance of doubt, Employees are entitled to Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Australia Day, and any days in lieu, as paid public holidays.
Annual closure. The Employer may require Employees to take annual leave during periods of closure or partial closure such as at Christmas and New Year. In circumstances where a public emergency is declared by the Federal or Northern Territory Governments and the Employer has to cease operations, the Employer may require Employees to take annual leave without giving four weeks’ notice. The latter refers to a complete shutdown as a result of a public emergency, such as a pandemic event or natural disaster.
