Days in Lieu. Subject to the provisions of Subsection 6.02(7), all employees engaged in a type of work required to be performed continuously, including statutory holidays, shall receive, in each calendar year of completed service, in lieu of twelve (12) statutory holidays, time equivalent to twelve (12) duty shifts plus one (1) additional duty shift for any public holiday proclaimed by the Corporation or by the Federal or British Columbia Governments in addition to those listed in Section 7.02 which shall be scheduled separately from their annual vacations. Such time off to start on the employee's first day shift and return to duty shall be in the employee’s same group. All such time off to be taken at a time mutually agreed upon between the Corporation and the Union, and exceptions to this procedure may be mutually agreed upon between the Fire Chief and the Union.
Days in Lieu. If one of the above named holidays occurs on an employee’s regular day off or during her vacation period, the employee will receive an additional day off in lieu thereof.
Days in Lieu. School-based principals will be granted two paid leave days per school year at a time mutually agreed upon by the Principal and the Superintendent or designate.
Days in Lieu. (a) When Christmas Day falls on a Saturday, or Sunday, a holiday in lieu thereof will be observed on 27
Days in Lieu. When Christmas Day is a Saturday or a Sunday, a holiday in lieu thereof shall be observed on 27 December.
Days in Lieu. 23.1. Days in lieu shall accrue and be taken in accordance with the employees rostered shift length, for example, an employee who accrues a day in lieu by working an 8 hour shift shall be entitled to take that accrued day on any shift of 8 hours duration, additionally any employee who accrues a day in lieu by working a 12 hour shift shall be entitled to take that accrued day on any shift of 12 hours duration. Nothing in this clause shall limit an employee from using a day in lieu accrued on a 12 hour shift on any 8 hour shift. In that circumstance, the employee will forfeit the balance of 4 hours.
23.2. Days in lieu accrue by either working or being rostered off on a Public Holiday. In addition an employee accrues a day in lieu as a result of being absent on annual leave when a Public Holiday falls. Days in lieu shall be taken at a mutually agreeable time. Days in lieu not taken shall be converted to hours relative to the accrual to remunerate employees in circumstances of resignation or termination.
Days in Lieu. 13.1 The maximum number of days in lieu that may be earned by a teacher, as per Sections 11 and 12, in one school year is five (5) days.
13.2 A teacher may carry forward up to five (5) days. Any unused days will be paid out at the substitute teacher rate.
13.3 The maximum number of earned days that may be used in any one school year is five (5).
13.4 Principals shall approve, provided there is evidence of good planning and appropriate substitute teaching coverage in place, the taking of days in lieu to a maximum of five (5) consecutive earned days in traditional calendar schools and a maximum of four (4) consecutive earned days in Program for Protected Classroom Instruction (P.P.C.I.) schools. If days are used and not earned, a teacher shall forfeit the teacher’s per diem salary.
13.5 Days in lieu used in conjunction with special leave days require the approval of the Director of Education or designate.
13.6 Days in lieu shall not be used on non-student days, excluding teacher planning days, except in exceptional circumstances and with the approval of the Director of Education or designate.
Days in Lieu. Overtime shall be kept to a minimum. An employee asked to work in excess of 70 hours per bi-weekly pay period shall be granted time off in compensation at the rate of time and one half (1 ½ ) for the time worked over the regular full time work week. The employee may accumulate time off in lieu up to fourteen (14) hours. Anything over fourteen (14) hours must be used within the following three (3) month. Any work for which an employee would be entitled to time and one half off in compensation under this clause, must have prior approval of the Executive Director.

23.3. All time in lieu banked by the Employees will be taken or alternately ‘cashed out’ within twelve months of it being accrued. Requests for cashing out must be made in writing to the Employer.
23.4. Days in lieu already banked by Employees will be reduced to leave a balance not exceeding 6 days by the first full pay period on or after 3rd December annually.
23.5. Time in lieu days either taken by Employees or paid out by the Employer will be paid at the Employee’s salaried rate.
a) Employees must make a written request to cash-out time in lieu accruals;
Days in Lieu. (a) For shift work job sharers, days in lieu will accrue in accordance with their roster and the Agreement.
(b) Days in lieu must be taken as whole days and may be covered by the other job share partner at single time rates by mutual agreement.
