Apprenticeships and Foundation Apprenticeships. The external environment demands, via the report on Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce/Scotland’s Youth Employment Strategy, that apprenticeships are the primary means by which education training and skills development should be progressed. Some curriculum areas have established track records in delivering apprenticeships successfully: engineering, construction and railways provide good examples. Responding to the above strategy the College is working with schools employers and SDS to significantly increase the number and scope of direct and indirect apprenticeships that will be available. Initially, these will focus on areas of high demand and projected growth, but ultimately, the aspiration is to have apprenticeships across the curriculum portfolio to provide an attractive alternative to attending College full time. Specific opportunities/issues being considered at present are: n Demand-led Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) in customer services, accounting, financial and legal services, management and waste Management n Foundation Apprenticeships in social services and healthcare, accounting and childcare & young people n Development work currently ongoing with SDS on the scope for Graduate Apprenticeships and partnership delivery The pressure on the College’s and sector’s finances means that it is a challenge and a necessity for every curriculum area to work in partnership with the Business Development team to actively engage in market development activity, new product development to meet a bespoke demand or identify products within their portfolio that may be appropriate for commercialisation. International consultancy and training will be increased in partnership. A separate strategy will support this document. In recent years Edinburgh College has supported modern apprenticeship provision across 10 different delivery areas, with around 381 MAs on the College direct contract.   • Apprenticeships 20.1 The parties are committed to providing increased employment opportunities for apprentices and trainees through an effective manufacturing industry policy and an increase in apprenticeship places in the TAFE system.

  • Apprenticeship 7.01 At such time, the parties agree to a training program, it is agreed to contact the California Nevada JATC to establish such program.

  • Apprenticeship Program 62. The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • Apprenticeship Training The enterprise agrees to work with the union to improve apprenticeship training and the number of apprentices in training.

  • Apprenticeship Supervision All apprentices shall be supervised by an appropriately qualified tradesperson. The parties shall implement the ESV’s “Supervision guidelines for apprentices working on electrical installations”. These guidelines were developed by the Industry parties under the auspices of the Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector.

  • TERM OF APPRENTICESHIP The term of apprenticeship shall be as established by these apprenticeship standards in accordance with the schedule of work processes and related instruction as outlined in Appendices attached hereto.

  • APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE The central parties agree that within sixty (60) days of the commencement of this agreement, a joint local committee consisting of up to three representatives each will be formed to discuss the feasibility of establishing an apprenticeship program(s). If such a program is deemed feasible, the local parties will determine the terms and conditions of such program(s). The joint local committee will seek the availability of any federal or provincial funds to cover the costs of such programs.

  • JOINT APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE There is hereby established a Joint Apprenticeship Committee as defined in paragraph (c) hereof. This Committee shall be composed of four (4) members, two (2) representing the Company and two (2) Journeymen/women employees representing the Union. The Chairperson shall be the Supervisor of Apprentices. The Committee shall meet once a month unless otherwise agreed. It shall be the duty of the Committee:

  • Apprenticeship Requirements The Contractor shall comply with Section 230.1(A), California Code of Regulations as required by the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards by submitting DAS Form to the Joint Apprenticeship Committee of the craft or trade in the area of the site.

  • APPRENTICES 6.36.1 The Contractor acknowledges and agrees that, if this Contract involves a dollar amount greater than or a number of working days greater than that specified in Labor Code Section 1777.5, this Contract is governed by the provisions of Labor Code Section 1777.5. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure compliance with this Article and with Labor Code Section 1777.5 for all apprenticeable occupations.
