Banked Sick Time. Banked Sick Time is made up of accumulated unused sick time with no limitation on the amount that may be accumulated. At the end of each calendar year, 100% of unused Annual Sick Time days may be credited to Banked Sick Time at 100% of value.

Banked Sick Time. 1.1: It is understood between the parties hereto that sick days accrued prior to ratification of this agreement shall be referred to as "banked sick time." The accrual of banked sick time shall be frozen as of the month in which this agreement is ratified. Fifty percent (50%) of accumulated banked sick leave shall be paid in the case of retirement or payment to beneficiaries in the event of death. If the officer leaves the employment of the Township for any reason provided, however, that the officer has at least five (5) years with the department. 1.2: An officer who reports for work and leaves because of sickness during his or her tour of duty shall be charged sick time for the exact number of hours which he or she is absent from work. 1.3: Sick Leave shall not be considered as a privilege which an officer may use at his or her discretion, but shall be allowed only in case of actual sickness or disability of the officer. Serious illness of a husband, wife or child shall warrant use of sick leave by the officer after arrangements have been made with his or her immediate superior. When an officer's absence is for more than three (3) continuous work days, the officer may be required to file a physician's certificate to verify the injury or illness which prevented the officer from working. The Chief or his or her designee may also require such a physician's certificate from any employee whenever the officer's pattern of sick leave absences indicates the possibility of sick leave abuse. Officers who fail to file a physician's certificate under this policy will not be paid for sick leave absences involved. Officers who exhibit sick leave absences that indicate a pattern of abuse who fail to provide a physician's certificate will also be subject to disciplinary action. 1.4: At the end of each contract year officers shall have the right to sell up to ninety- six (96) hours of banked sick time for one-half (50%) of his or her pay per day determined by the value of the officer's base pay on the last day of the contract year for which the hours are to be paid.   • Sick Time An employee shall have all of his/her accrued sick leave credits transferred when the employee is transferred to a different State agency.

  • Daylight Savings Time Employees required to work more than eight (8) hours on an eight (8) hour shift or more than ten (10) hours on a ten (10) hour shift due to the change from daylight savings time to standard time shall be paid for the additional hour worked at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2). Employees required to work less than eight (8) hours on an eight (8) hour shift or less than ten (10) hours on a ten (10) hour shift due to the change from standard time to daylight savings time shall be paid for the actual hours worked. Employees may use vacation time or compensatory time to make up for the one (1) hour lost. Employees in the first six (6) months of employment who would be eligible to accrue vacation, may be advanced one (1) hour of vacation time which shall either be deducted from their vacation leave balance, or deducted from their last paycheck if the employee is separated prior to accruing vacation.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Daylight Saving Time The changing of Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time, or vice versa, shall not result in Employees being paid more or less than their normal scheduled daily hours. The hour difference shall be split between the Employees completing their shift and those commencing their shift.

  • Wash-Up Time 37.01 Where the Employer determines there is a clear-cut need, wash-up time, to a maximum of ten (10) minutes immediately before the end of a work period, will be permitted.

  • Crib Time (i) When an Employee is required to work overtime after the usual ceasing time for the day or shift for two hours or more, he/she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a crib time of twenty minutes in duration immediately after such ceasing time and thereafter, after each four hours of continuous work, he/she shall be allowed to take also, without deduction of pay, a crib time of 30 minutes in duration. (ii) In the event of an Employee remaining at work after the usual ceasing time without taking the crib time of twenty minutes and continuing at work for a period of two hours or more, he/she shall be regarded as having worked twenty minutes more than the time worked and be paid accordingly.

  • Show Up Time An employee who reports to work in the usual manner without having been notified that there is no work available and is sent home because of lack of work before having worked four (4) hours shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay at their prevailing hourly rate. The employee shall also receive their full accommodation allowance if and when applicable. Each employee must inform the Employer of a means of being contacted on short notice. If an attempt is made by the Employer at least two (2) hours before the employee’s shift commences by way of the contact information provided, in an effort to inform the employee of a lack of work, and the Employer is unable to do so, the employee will not be entitled to show up time.

  • Banked Time The implementation of these provisions shall not be considered to be a layoff. 8.

  • Break Time For daily work assignments of six or more hours, permanent and probationary employees (except bus drivers and bus aides) shall be entitled to one 15-minute break for each half of the work assignment. For work assignments of less than six hours, such employees shall be entitled to one 15-minute break. Employees who spend a majority of the workday working with a Video Display Terminal (VDT) shall be permitted to perform other job-related duties (i.e., work not involving use of a VDT) 10 continuous minutes out of each hour. Such time shall not be cumulative and shall be in addition to break time established above.

  • Flex Time Upon agreement of the supervisor's immediate supervisor, an individual flex-time schedule may be established.
