BENEFIT HOURS DURING LEAVE. ‌ A leave of absence is generally considered an unpaid leave. During FMLA leaves, however, employees will generally be paid available, accrued paid time -- such as sick days, XXX hours, or vacation hours -- for otherwise unpaid FMLA leave, to the degree that taking paid leave under such circumstances is consistent with Operator policy. Eligibility for leave is not dependent on the number of sick days or benefit hours available. If receiving compensation due to time off from an EHSI on-the-job injury, an employee will not receive any other compensation.

Eligibility for leave is not dependent on the number of sick days or benefit hours available. If receiving compensation due to time off from an EHSI on-the-job injury, the employee will not receive other compensation.

Employees eligible for Washington State Paid Family Leave shall be required to apply per Employer policy. Accrued and earned PTO may be used to supplement paid time by the state of Washington or may be cashed out per Article 16 of this Agreement. Eligibility for leave is not dependent on the number of sick days or benefit hours available. If receiving compensation due to time off from an EHSI on-the-job injury, an employee will not receive any other compensation.

  • Benefits During Leave Employees are encouraged to contact the Employer’s Benefits Office (phone # 000-000-0000, xxxxxxxx@xx.xxx) prior to any leave without pay to understand impact on benefits and learn about other points to consider.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Bereavement During Vacation Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.04. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.
