Paid Benefits. The Board of Education will provide a single health and dental membership, with a jointly agreed upon provider. In addition, life insurance and a short term disability salary protection plan will be provided by the Board. A Fringe Benefits Committee, which will include representatives from the district’s Leadership Team, classified staff, and the De Xxxx Teachers’ Association, will convene to explore various benefit options related to each of the provided benefit plans. In the event two married professional employees are employed by the Board of Education, the Board payment to each of the two professional employees may be pooled.
Paid Benefits. (a) The Employer shall maintain: the existing Group Life and Health Insurance policy, or a plan providing at least equal benefits, plus all other current benefits, in effect at the signing of this agreement during the life of this agreement.
(b) The Employer agrees that for those benefit programs, which the Employer now pays the premiums, it will continue to pay these premiums plus pay increases in those premiums, subject to its ability to pay any increase. Employer-paid benefits include the Group Life Insurance Plan, Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage, a Major Medical Expense benefit, Eyeglass coverage and the Dental Plan.

b) For all eligible full time employees on the active payroll, as of October 1, 2012 and for the remaining term of this contract, the monthly premiums for the Dental Plan and Supplementary Medical Plan shall be shared 80% by the Employer and 20% by the employee, paid through payroll deductions. All new employees hired after the date of ratification will be part of the Metroland Benefit Plan according to the terms and cost sharing formulas of those plans.
c) The Employer agrees that for those benefit programs, which the Employer now pays the premiums, it will continue to pay these premiums plus pay increases in those premiums, subject to its ability to pay any increase. Employer-paid benefits include the Group Life Insurance Plan, Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage, a Major Medical Expense benefit, Eyeglass coverage and the Dental Plan.
d) The vision care reimbursement maximum will be $275.00 every two years.
e) Insured Dental charges will be reimbursed at 100%, based on the previous year’s Dental Fee Schedule.
f) In the event of the death of an employee the above benefits will be maintained for a period of one year for the surviving spouse and eligible dependents.
g) New employees are eligible to be insured on the first day of the month following three months of continuous employment.
h) Retired employees, age 55 and over, will have the major medical expenses plan, eyeglass coverage and dental plan paid between their retirement and the later of: three (3) years after their retirement date and their 65th birthday. Out-of-province coverage is not included. Employees who retire September 17, 2007 or after, will not have out-of-province benefit coverage or Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance; the life insurance policy for retirees will be $15,000.00. New employees hired September 17, 2007 or after, will not have access to retiree benefits.
i) In consideration for the provision of the improvement to the employee benefit package the Union, on behalf of the employees, releases the Employer from any obligation it might have hereafter to pay to employees any Employment Insurance rebate available due to the existence of the Employer’s sick leave plan. Paid Benefits. During FMLA leave, the unit member shall continue to be entitled to participate in the District's medical, dental and vision plans with the same District contribution that was in effect prior to the leave. Upon expiration of FMLA leave entitlement, if additional unpaid leave is authorized, continuation of health care benefits coverage shall be allowed with the unit member paying all costs of coverage or as may be allowed in other applicable policies.
Paid Benefits. Sick leave shall be paid at the nurse's regular rate of pay, including shift differential when applicable, for any illness or injury which renders the nurse incapable of performing his/her duties, and for illness or injury of a nurse's child, spouse, parent, parent-in- law or grandparent pursuant to the Washington State Family Care Act. The Hospital reserves the right to require reasonable proof of such illness.
Paid Benefits. 18.1 The District shall provide benefits to each qualified classified worker as specified in this article. Copies of all qualified benefit programs including the specific coverage each program provides shall be available through the Office of Human Resources. A "qualified classified worker" is one who:
18.1.1 Is a permanent or probationary classified worker; and
18.1.2 Is employed at least half-time; and
18.1.3 Has been in paid status during the month preceding the month covered by the benefits; A classified worker shall be deemed to be in paid status during any recess or intercession if the worker is scheduled to return to paid status at the end of the recess or intercession. Dependent shall be defined as the worker's spouse or domestic partner, and any child who is claimed as an allowable dependent on the worker's Federal Income tax return.
18.1.4 A worker who resigns or is terminated shall cease to be a qualified classified worker at the end of the calendar month during which his or her resignation/termination becomes effective.
18.2 A disabled classified worker receiving long-term disability payments under Section 18.9 shall, following the exhaustion of all sick leave and extended sick leave, remain a qualified classified worker for the purpose of receiving health benefits for three years provided the worker has been employed by the District for at least five (5) years.

Sick leave shall be paid at the employee's regular rate of pay for any illness or injury which renders the employee incapable of performing his/her duties and for illness or injury of an employee's dependent child pursuant to Washington State Law. The Hospital reserves the right to require reasonable proof of such illness.
Paid Benefits. 22.1 Each qualified faculty employee shall be eligible to enroll in District-sponsored health benefit plan/s as specified in this article. A “qualified faculty employee” is one who:
22.1.1 Is either a contract or regular faculty employee or a full-time temporary faculty employee appointed for a period of at least one year; and
22.1.2 Is employed at least half time; and
22.1.3 Has been in paid status during the month preceding the month covered by the benefits. A faculty employee shall be deemed to be in paid status during any recess if the employee is scheduled to return to paid status at the end of the recess. In addition, a faculty employee shall be deemed in paid status after the end of the academic year if the employee is scheduled to return to paid status in the next academic year.
Paid Benefits. Jury duty, sick leave, bereavement, vacation and hour for hour. Day – A “day” is defined as a calendar day, unless otherwise indicated. Bid – An offer, by seniority, in which an employee accepts or declines. Once a lesser senior employee accepts the offer, a senior employee cannot change his/her bid, unless the lesser senior employee(s) agrees to the change.
