Class Advisors. Advisors may be assigned to the various classes by the Principal. Chaperones for evening activities, other than the advisor of the sponsoring group, will be voluntary.

Class Advisors. If more than one advisor is approved for grades 9, 10, or 11, then the agreed percentage compensation will be divided for that grade. Class Advisors. A. The Board accepts the philosophy that the better a unit member knows a student the better he/she is able to advise the student. Therefore, advisors should be assigned in 7th grade and continue through the years with the same students. Two (2) unit members will be assigned to all class advisorships. Before unit members are assigned as class advisors, the District shall seek volunteers from within the unit. B. Class advisors will be paid according to the Extra-Curricular Pay Schedule. C. Class advisors will not be paid by experience and are responsible for counting and rolling money collected for fund-raising projects. Advisors will be provided locked moneybags where they will fill out deposit slips and the District will deposit the money and keep accounts based on these slips. D. No unit member shall be required to chaperone the senior class trip. Other chaperoning assignments shall be in accordance with past practices. E. Senior class advisor shall be given first opportunity to chaperone the senior trip. However, should he/she refuse, then half the salary allotted for the advisor shall instead be paid to whomever accepts the role of chaperone.

Other teachers may be assigned as homeroom teachers, but will not function as class advisors. All homeroom teachers will attend class meetings but other than discipline they will have no direct function or responsibility at the meetings.
