Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops. The Board shall pay or reimburse Xx. Xxxxx for the costs of job related conferences, seminars, and workshops, subject to prior Superintendent approval regarding cost, in accordance with Chapter 53 of the Public Laws of 2007 (N.J.S.A. 18A:11-12). Receipts shall be required for all expenses incurred. 1. All arrangements are to be approved by the Superintendent and the Board. 2. All travel and travel related expenses shall comply fully with 3. Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops. (1) Twenty hours of participation equal one P.I.U. (2) All participation in meetings, conferences, seminars, or workshops which are relevant to the faculty member's teaching, working, or contractual responsibilities will be accepted. (3) Preparation for participation in conferences, etc. is an assumed necessity of the experience and will not be awarded Professional Development credit beyond the actual hours of the meeting. Similarly, preparation for a leadership role at meetings (such as involvement as a chairman, coordinator, facilitator, presenter, commentator, or demonstrator) will not ordinarily be granted credit apart from the actual hours of the meeting unless a separate product results (such as an academic paper, a publishable report, or a salable product) in which cases separate application may be made for P.I.U.'s in the category of Research and Development Activities (see E below). (4) In all cases, activity for Professional Development credit in the category of conference, etc., participation must be justified as being beyond normal contractual obligations for WWCC faculty. (5) Participation in conferences, etc., must be carefully documented to receive Professional Development credit. Appropriate documentation for this category of activity would include one or more of the following: a.) conference, etc., registration receipts, b.) certificates of completion, c.) a copy of the applicant's personal notes or comments on the activity, d.) a letter from a conference, etc., leader verifying participation.
Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops. An Employee may attend one (1) or more work-related conferences, seminars, or workshops per year. The Town shall reimburse an Employee for fees and expenses, lodging, travel and/or mileage up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) per conference, seminar, or workshop. Total annual reimbursement for conferences, seminars, and workshops in any contract year (July 1st through June 30th) shall be limited to one thousand and five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per year.

At the Employer’s discretion and subject to budgetary constraints, employees will be given the opportunity to participate in conferences, seminars and workshops.   • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.
