Members assigned to day shift during the first quarter of the year and expected to be assigned for at least the duration of the year shall be eligible for all four floating holidays Members assigned to day shift after the first half of the payroll year shall receive one employee designated floating holiday. Members who are expected to be assigned away from day shift during the year shall be eligible for a proportionate number of floating holidays. It is not the intent of this language to work any Port employee on a Port designated holiday.

  • Holiday Eligibility Except as otherwise provided in this Article, an employee must be in a paid status during any portion of the working day immediately preceding or succeeding the holiday to be paid for the holiday. Employees in the bargaining unit who are not normally assigned to duty during the Christmas and Spring Recess periods shall be paid for those holidays occurring during those periods provided that they were in a paid status during any portion of the working day of their normal assignment immediately preceding or succeeding the holiday period.

With County approval, compensatory time earned for working on a holiday or for a holiday falling on a regularly scheduled day off may be taken on the first scheduled working day after the holiday. B. A new employee whose first working day is the day after a holiday shall not be paid for that holiday. C. An employee who elects paid County retirement on a holiday shall be paid for the holiday. D. An employee who is terminating employment for reasons other than paid County retirement and whose last day as a paid employee is the day before a holiday shall not be paid for that holiday. E. Only regular, limited-term and probationary employees shall be eligible for holiday pay.

  • Overtime Eligibility An Employee must work at least fifteen (15) minutes beyond their normal shift before being eligible for overtime compensation.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
