Drugs and Controlled Substances. Possession, use, distribution, manufacture, or sale of illegal drugs and controlled substances is prohibited. The possession of paraphernalia associated with the use of illegal drugs or controlled substances is also prohibited. The misuse or unauthorized possession of controlled substances, including but not limited to, prescription medications, by a resident or visitor is also prohibited. The university may deem any prohibited substance or paraphernalia found in any area of an individual’s room or suite to be in the individual’s “possession.” Violations of D.C. law and university policy are considered serious and may result in fines, eviction of ones affinity group from housing and/or an individual’s expulsion from the University. Residents/Guests: I am aware that the organization is responsible for the conduct of all of our visitors and guests when present in our facility/designated affinity space and will reiterate this to all members, both live-on and off. In addition, I will make sure to communicate The Residential Community Conduct Guidelines (RCCGs) and the Code of Student Conduct policies to all residents/ guests. Additionally, I am aware that GW Housing/CSE staff members reserve the right to ask any individual (member or guest) who is not a resident to leave the facility. I understand that as House Manager/Affinity Group Coordinator I represent the University and/or the organization of which my affinity is a part, and in doing so I’m expected to conduct myself in accordance with such entities expectations. With regard to my treatment/interactions with both the residents in the facility/designated affinity space and their guests, I am encouraged to do so with the utmost respect. Housing & Center for Student Engagement (CSE) Staff: I understand that as House Manager/Affinity Group Coordinator along with all members of the University community share the responsibility for reporting all violations of University policy when confronted with them. As House Manager/Affinity Group Lead, I along with all GW employees will not tolerate vulgarities, ridicule or abuse in the performance of, or as a result of, our duties. Drugs and Controlled Substances. The possession and consumption of any controlled substances is prohibited in the event area, and deemed distractive activity. This includes “legal” or “medicinal” marijuana. Persons in possession of unlawful substances or other drug related paraphernalia will be ejected, and subject to arrest. Tobacco/Electronic Smoking Devices: The Event shall be smoke-free. The use of tobacco or electronic smoking devices of any kind is prohibited. Smoking and vaping shall be confined to designated smoking areas outside the event.

All policies, procedures, and disciplinary actions concerning drug and alcohol testing shall be in compliance with applicable state and federal law. The City and the FOPE shall adhere to the provisions governing the Drug Testing and Substance Abuse Policy Program, which is incorporated herein by this reference. The City also reserves the right to require bargaining unit members holding the following positions to submit to random drug testingMaintenance Mechanics, Water/Wastewater, Crime Scene Investigators, Crime Technician Specialist, Evidence Technicians, Equipment Operators, Heavy Equipment Operators, Traffic Safety Technicians, and Traffic Signal Technicians. For random testing purposes, drugs are defined as amphetamines; cannabinoids; cocaine; phencyclidine (PCP); hallucinogens; methaqualone; opiates; barbiturates; benzodiazepines; synthetic narcotics; designer drugs; metabolites of any of the substances listed herein; or any other drug deemed to be illegal by any federal, state, or local law or regulation at levels provided for by applicable law. A scientifically valid and impartial random selection procedure has been developed and implemented by the City. This procedure shall randomly select each affected member at least once each calendar year, but no more than four (4) times during the effective period of this agreement. The notification of selection and administration of testing shall occur just before, during, or just after the noticed member’s shift.

  • Controlled Substances The use or possession of any controlled substance will result in immediate cancellation of the use agreement.

  • Controlled Substance Bodily injury" or "property damage" arising out of the use, sale, manufacture, delivery, transfer or possession by any person of a Controlled Substance as defined by the Federal Food and Drug Law at 21 U.S.C.A. Sections 811 and 812. Controlled Substances include but are not limited to cocaine, LSD, marijuana and all nar- cotic drugs. However, this exclusion does not apply to the legitimate use of prescription drugs by a person following the orders of a licensed physician.

  • Dangerous Goods, Special Wastes, Pesticides and Harmful Substances Where employees are required to work with or are exposed to any dangerous good, special waste, pesticide or harmful substance, the Employer shall ensure that the employees are adequately trained in the identification, safe handling, use, storage, and/or disposal of same.

  • Infection Control Consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guideline for Infection Control in Health Care Personnel, and University Policy 3364-109-EH-603, the parties agree that all bargaining unit employees who come in contact with patients in the hospital or ambulatory care clinics will need to be vaccinated against influenza when flu season begins each fall. The influenza vaccine will be offered to all health care workers, including pregnant women, before the influenza season, unless otherwise medically contraindicated or it compromises sincerely held religious beliefs.

  • TOXIC SUBSTANCES Each Contractor furnishing a toxic substance as defined by Section 875 of the Labor Law, shall provide such Authorized User with not less than two copies of a material safety data sheet, which sheet shall include for each such substance the information outlined in Section 876 of the Labor Law. Before any chemical product is used or applied on or in any building, a copy of the product label and Material Safety Data Sheet must be provided to and approved by the Authorized User agency representative.

  • Hazardous Substances The words "Hazardous Substances" mean materials that, because of their quantity, concentration or physical, chemical or infectious characteristics, may cause or pose a present or potential hazard to human health or the environment when improperly used, treated, stored, disposed of, generated, manufactured, transported or otherwise handled. The words "Hazardous Substances" are used in their very broadest sense and include without limitation any and all hazardous or toxic substances, materials or waste as defined by or listed under the Environmental Laws. The term "Hazardous Substances" also includes, without limitation, petroleum and petroleum by-products or any fraction thereof and asbestos.

  • SUBSTANCE ABUSE The dangers and costs that alcohol and other chemical abuses can create in the electrical contracting industry in terms of safety and productivity are significant. The parties to this Agreement resolve to combat chemical abuse in any form and agree that, to be effective, programs to eliminate substance abuse and impairment should contain a strong rehabilitation component. The local parties recognize that the implementation of a drug and alcohol policy and program must be subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Such policies and programs must also be administered in accordance with accepted scientific principles, and must incorporate procedural safeguards to ensure fairness in application and protection of legitimate interests of privacy and confidentiality. To provide a drug-free workforce for the Electrical Construction Industry, each IBEW local union and NECA chapter shall implement an area-wide Substance Abuse Testing Policy. The policy shall include minimum standards as required by the IBEW and NECA. Should any of the required minimum standards fail to comply with federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations, they shall be modified by the local union and chapter to meet the requirements of those laws and regulations.
