Education and Vocational Training. The Contractor shall ensure or procure that the following requirements of this Section D are complied with: The education and vocational training programme set out in each Trainees Training Plan will be a key component of his/her Training / Remand Plan and will be specially tailored to his/her educational needs with a view to bringing him/her up to a level of educational attainment commensurate with his/her abilities, especially in literacy and numeracy. The assessment process will be undertaken by teachers will provide the basis for the educational and vocational training programme set out in his/her Training / Remand Plan by identifying his/her educational skills, ability, attainments and deficits. The Trainees Training / Remand Plan will set out his/her educational goals while in custody at the Secure Training Centre and his/her training programme and other means by which, in discussion with the Trainee, it has been agreed that he/she will achieve these goals. The Trainees goals and his/her education and vocational training programme will be regularly assessed by the teachers directly responsible for his/her education and training in the light of his/her progress, and will be amended as and when necessary to reflect the Trainees academic and vocational achievements and/or failings. Each Trainee in custody at the Secure Training Centre will be provided with education and training in the following areas with a view to maximising his/her personal and academic potential: (i) School/College - conventional education appropriate to his/her academic level, abilities and needs on every weekday morning and afternoon, except statutory bank holidays; (ii) Offending Behaviour Programmes for tackling offending behaviour for sentenced Trainees. Remanded Trainees may continue offending behaviour work in respect of previous criminality for which there is in force a current court order (other than the remand itself) where there is agreement with the responsible Local Authority and the remand Trainee; (iii) Domestic Training - practical tuition given to him/her and other Trainees of a similar age and maturity on how to cope with basic day-to-day activities in the home environment such as cooking and cleaning; (iv) Social Education - he/she will be given the opportunity through award schemes and constructive use of his/her leisure time in the evenings and at weekends to acquire and develop interests to occupy his/her leisure time while in custody in and after his/her relea...
Education and Vocational Training. Programme (i) Trainees of school age in custody at the Secure Training Centre will be provided with a curriculum appropriate to their age, ability and aptitude and any special educational needs which they may have. The curriculum provided to Trainees of school age in custody at the Secure Training Centre will be broad and balanced and will as far as reasonably practicable reflect the National Curriculum. Trainees will be able to begin or continue examination course work, where practicable, with the co-operation of the schools which they were attending prior to their custody at the Secure Training Centre and to whom they may return on release. (ii) Trainees who are of school age on release from the Secure Training Centre and who will return to the mainstream education system will, as far as is reasonably practicable, be given the opportunity to continue their education in the Secure Training Centre in accordance with the National Curriculum and to continue and/or begin examination course work, where appropriate and practicable, with the co-operation of the schools which they were attending prior to their custody at the Secure Training Centre. (iii) Trainees who are, either at the time of their admission to or during their time in custody at the Secure Training Centre, or who on their release from the Secure Training Centre will be above school age will receive an appropriate and mutually acceptable educational or work related learning package designed to prepare them for entrance to further education or a job and which is, as far as reasonably practicable, similar to that provided by a College of Further Education.

  • Technical Training The CAISO and the Participating TOs shall respond to reasonable requests for support and provide relevant technical training to each other’s employees to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the CAISO Controlled Grid and to comply with any NERC or WECC operator certification or training requirements. Examples of such technical training include, but are not limited to: (1) the theory or operation of new or modified equipment (e.g., control systems, Remedial Action Schemes, protective relays); (2) computer and applicator programs; and (3) CAISO (or Participating TO) requirements. The Parties shall enter into agreements regarding the timing, term, locations, and cost allocation for the training.
