Educational Assistance Payments Sample Clauses

Educational Assistance Payments. An “Educational Assistance Payment” means any amount, other than a refund of payments, paid out of the Plan to or for an individual to assist the individual to further the individual’s education at a post-secondary school level. Educational Assistance Payments can only be paid when the Beneficiary is enrolled as a full-time or part-time student in a “qualifying educational program” at a “postsecondary educational institution”. (Where the Beneficiary has a mental or physical impairment, and it has been certified as required under the Act that the effects of the impairment are such that the Beneficiary cannot reasonably be expected to be enrolled as a full-time student, Educational Assistance Payments can be paid where the Beneficiary is not a full-time student.) A “qualifying educational program” means a program at a post-secondary school level of not less than three consecutive weeks duration that requires that each student taking the program spend not less than ten hours per week on courses or work in the program. A program is not a qualifying educational program for a particular student if the student is enrolled in the program in connection with, or as part of, the duties of employment and the student is receiving employment income while enrolled in the program.

Ownership of the Property of the Plan and Exercise of Voting Rights Ownership of the property of the Plan will be vested in the Trustee. You are the beneficial owner of the property of the Plan. The property of the Plan will be held in the Trustee’s name or nominee name, bearer form or any other name that the Trustee determines. The voting rights attached to any securities held under the Plan and credited to your account may be exercised by you. For this purpose, you are hereby appointed as the Trustee’s agent and attorney to execute and deliver proxies and/or other instruments mailed by us or the Trustee to you according to applicable laws. 19. Instructions and Written Notice Instructions may take any form, however any reasonable requirements regarding form, content, receipt and timing established by us or the Trustee must be satisfied. We and the Trustee will be entitled to rely upon instructions received from you (or by any person you designate to us to give instructions on your behalf) and any person purporting to be you (or purporting to be the person designated by you). We and the Trustee may decline to act upon instructions if there are doubts about their accuracy or whether they are from you (or a person designated by you) or if we or the Trustee do not understand them. If there is more than one subscriber at the same time, instructions given by one subscriber will bind all subscribers. If you give us or the Trustee instructions more than once, we or the Trustee will follow the instructions with the latest date, even though they may be different from previous instructions. We or the Trustee may give you or the Beneficiary any written notice, statement or receipt by personal delivery or by mail, postage prepaid, at the address you gave on the Application. Educational Assistance Payments. The amount of funds available to an eligible Beneficiary is the amount of Income earned under the Self-Determined Plan on the Subscriber’s Contributions, together with Government Grants and Income thereon. Such amount is distributed to the Beneficiary for educational purposes when and as requested by the Subscriber and upon demonstrating qualification as described in subsections 6 (a) and (b) hereof and subject to the other terms of this Contract.

  • Educational Assistance Section 1. Tuition reimbursement shall be provided to employees covered by this collective bargaining AGREEMENT under the same terms and conditions, policies and procedures as the rest of Hennepin County and reflecting a county–wide pool for funding. Where courses are required and certified by the appointing authority as essential to current job performance, such appointing authority shall grant 100% reimbursement for tuition, required fees and required study materials. Section 3. At the request of an employee, an Individual Development Plan shall be established. Any employee making the request shall be provided with paid time to work with their Supervisor or Human Resources to develop a training plan for career development within Hennepin County. Human Resources will be a source of career information, and postings, in which the employee may have an interest. Time allotted for this activity and the training plan adopted shall be subject to mutual agreement of the Employee and Supervisor.

  • Legal Assistance The Board shall give full support including legal and other assistance for any assault upon the employee while properly acting in the discharge of his/her duties.

  • Technical Assistance DFPS may provide informal support, guidance, clarification, and other forms of technical assistance via phone, email, and virtual meeting to resolve Grant or performance compliance issues. Grantee will document all such instances of technical assistance by DFPS in writing, including any implementation work.

  • Mutual Assistance The Parties will do all things reasonably necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms and provisions of this Agreement and to aid and assist each other in carrying out such terms and provisions.

  • Coronavirus Relief Fund – Rental Assistance Application The Coronavirus Relief Fund – Rental Assistance Application should contain all the necessary information to determine whether a Household is potentially eligible for CRF assistance. In accordance with the provisions of Sections 760.20-760.37, Fla. Stat., it is unlawful to discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, familial status, national origin, or handicap in the award application process for Eligible Housing. 1. At a minimum, an application for program assistance should contain the following items for each household member: a. The number of people residing in the household including name, age, relationship to head of household, current address and home phone number; b. Name and address of employer(s), work phone number(s), and position title with employer; c. Sources of income and a statement signed by all of the adults who reside in the household consenting to the disclosure of information for the purpose of verifying income for determining eligibility for program assistance; d. A signed statement indicating that the applicant understands that all information provided is subject to Florida’s public records laws; and e. A statement that it is a first-degree misdemeanor to falsify information for the purpose of obtaining assistance.

  • Tuition Assistance Bargaining unit employees can enroll in university or college, vocational technical school or extension courses. The course may be by correspondence or attendance at classes during non-working hours or during working hours with approval of the Agency Head and/or his/her Designee. Where practicable, in relation to work requirements, the Employer shall be liberal with the approval of requests for accrued/unused vacation leave, flex-time scheduling, compensatory time, or leave without pay for the purpose of enabling employees to attend classes conducted during an employee's regularly scheduled work hours.

  • Distribution Assistance Fees (Asset-Based Sales Charge). Within ten (10) days of the end of each month, the Fund will make payments in the aggregate amount of 0.0625% (0.75% on an annual basis) of the average during the month of the aggregate net asset value of Shares computed as of the close of each business day (the "Asset-Based Sales Charge"). Such Asset-Based Sales Charge payments received from the Fund will compensate the Distributor for providing distribution assistance in connection with the sale of Shares. The distribution assistance services to be rendered by the Distributor in connection with the Shares may include, but shall not be limited to, the following: (i) paying sales commissions to any broker, dealer, bank or other person or entity that sells Shares, and/or paying such persons "Advance Service Fee Payments" (as defined below) in advance of, and/or in amounts greater than, the amount provided for in Section 3(b) of this Agreement; (ii) paying compensation to and expenses of personnel of the Distributor who support distribution of Shares by Recipients; (iii) obtaining financing or providing such financing from its own resources, or from an affiliate, for the interest and other borrowing costs of the Distributor's unreimbursed expenses incurred in rendering distribution assistance and administrative support services to the Fund; and (iv) paying other direct distribution costs, including without limitation the costs of sales literature, advertising and prospectuses (other than those prospectuses furnished to current holders of the Fund's shares ("Shareholders")) and state "blue sky" registration expenses.

  • Rental Assistance (Subsidy) Rental assistance will be provided to Eligible Households who pay 30% of their monthly net income, including Florida unemployment benefits, towards their monthly rent and have experienced a loss of job or income due to COVID-19.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Section 1. The Employer agrees to provide to the Union the statistical and program evaluation information provided to management concerning Employee Assistance Program(s). Section 2. No information gathered by an Employee Assistance Program may be used to discipline an employee. Section 3. Employees shall be entitled to use accrued sick leave for participation in an Employee Assistance Program. Section 4. Each university will offer training to local Union Stewards on the Employee Assistance Program available in their university, on university time, where an Employee Assistance Program is available.
