Educational Support Employees. The term support staff refers to Educational Support Professionals (ESP) or non-certified personnel who do not teach. Included in this definition are Paraprofessionals, Bus Drivers, Bus Monitors, Head Cooks, Cafeteria Workers, Maintenance Workers, Custodians, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Secretaries, and Computer Technicians.

Educational Support Employees. The evaluation criteria herein set forth, pursuant to WAC 000-000-000, shall be utilized by the evaluator in performing the annual evaluation of each certificated support employee which shall include school psychologists, therapists, school nurses, and counselors. The indicators listed below each criteria are guides intended to assist the evaluator in judging whether the employee is meeting the criteria. The evaluator shall decide which indicators, if any are appropriate for the particular employee being evaluated.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period. The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Replacement Employees (a) A replacement employee is an employee specifically engaged or temporarily promoted or transferred, as a result of an employee proceeding on parental leave.

  • Non-Bargaining Unit Employees Employees outside the bargaining unit will not perform work that is normally done by employees in the bargaining unit. However, nothing in this Agreement shall be construed as prohibiting foremen from doing work for purposes of employee instruction and evaluation, and equipment assessment, provided in so doing a lay-off of bargaining unit employees does not result, or in the case of an emergency when regular employees are not available, provided that every reasonable effort is made to find a replacement.
