EMPLOYEE LEAVES Personal Leave. The Company will grant a “leave of absencewithout pay, to any employee for a legitimate reason, any such leave will not be unreasonably withheld. To be valid, every application must be submitted in writing and approved in writing by the Plant Staff Manager or the Human Resources Manager. The Company’s approval will be given within five (5) working days. An employee on a valid “leave of absence” shall not be considered to have been laid-off and his/her seniority shall continue to accumulate during his/her absence. The Company will not unreasonably deny a written request for an extension to a leave of absence.

EMPLOYEE LEAVES Personal Leave. All employees shall be granted two (2) days personal leave per year. The scheduling of these days shall be contingent upon substitute availability. Unused personal leave may be carried over to the next year. No more than two (2) personal leave days may be carried forward from year to year. Personal leave days are available to the employee to conduct personal business that cannot be conducted during a school day. The employee has the option of using a personal leave day for a professional development workshop or visitation but the district cannot require him/her to do so. Personal days may be applied and attached to non-extended weekends, such as a three (3) or four (4) day weekend. Personal days cannot be used for scheduled “Snow Days'' or “Professional Development” days as indicated on the annual school calendar. Employees using Personal Days for such events will be in non-compensated status for that/those days, unless previously approved by his/her school principal. Teachers are allowed to convert two (2) sick days to be used as personal days. Employees who have more than two (2) days accumulated and unused personal leave at the completion of the school year will be paid for two (2) days at $175 per day. The District will initiate the payment.

  • Sick/Personal Leave Leave granted to the teacher for sick, personal or bereavement reasons.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

No member of the bargaining unit shall lose the accumulated allowance of unused days of sick leave/personal leave by reason of having been absent for a period without pay, nor shall the employee accumulate any additional days of allowance during the absence. Faculty members needing to use sick/personal days shall fill out the requisite forms according to official College procedures.

  • Personal Leave Day A. An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal leave day each fiscal year during the life of this Agreement if the employee has been continuously employed for more than four (4) months.

  • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Unused Personal Leave Since a number for the available personal leave days has been established, a basic discussion will need to be had regarding unused personal leave days. Naturally, these differ from vacation days since the Employer will not always be required to pay the Employee when personal leave is taken. If a dollar amount will be attached to each personal leave day that is unused so that it can be paid to that Employee then, select the first checkbox presented in the list of options provided and record the dollar amount that shall be paid for one unused personal day.
